The Frozen Cast Braced Freezing Weather Throughout Filming

Green commended the cast for their dedication. Regardless of the chill, they opted to remain on the lift during the entire filming process. “They took pleasure in it since they were isolated,” he added. “When actors are at work on a set, they attempt to stay focused but there’s usually around 50 crew members chattering, laughing, and moving about. However, here they were high up, roughly 50 feet above the ground, where they couldn’t really hear anyone below.

Green stated that “every young actor in Hollywood” tried out for the role, but “at least 70% of them backed out” when they discovered it involved only outdoor scenes. Ashmore, who had already appeared in three X-Men films, decided to take part after his friend Zegers recommended the script. At that time, Bell was on her way up; her character was the film’s sole survivor.
