Highly Rated Nintendo Switch Exclusive Stealth Released on PS5

A well-loved and critically acclaimed Nintendo Switch exclusive title, known for its excellent Metacritic score of 88 and exceptional Steam review ratings from users, has been secretly launched on both PS4 and PS5 through the PlayStation Store. This game is currently only available on two platforms: Nintendo Switch and Steam, where it boasts a “Very Positive” rating due to 96% of its 2,863 user reviews giving it positive feedback. On Steam, this game has the highest possible rating.

Surprisingly, Shadows Over Loathing has been released for both PS4 and PS5. You can buy it for $22.99 from the PlayStation Store. For those who aren’t familiar, this game was developed by Asymmetric, the same team that published it in 2022. Shadows Over Loathing is their second production, following West of Loathing which was released in 2017. While Shadows Over Loathing is a continuation of the storyline from West of Loathing, you don’t necessarily need to have played the first game to follow along with the sequel.

Previously, the game was exclusive to Nintendo Switch and PC platforms. However, it’s now also available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. Judging by the flawless user reviews on the PlayStation Store, it appears that PS4/PS5 users are really enjoying the game so far.

In this game, you are asked to help your Uncle Murray at his antique shop in Ocean City. However, upon your arrival, Uncle Murray is nowhere to be found. As you start investigating his disappearance and the artifacts he was collecting, things take a mysterious turn when you come across some secretive schemes (and a horde of wriggling eldritch tentacles) that could potentially bring about the end of the world.

Players choosing Shadows Over Loathing for their PS5, PS5 Pro, or PS4 consoles should anticipate dedicating around 15 hours to uncover the game’s main narrative. If you wish to explore the side content as well, plan for approximately 20 hours of gameplay, which might require a few extra hours. For those aiming for full completion, expect to invest around 30 hours into the RPG.
