Hoda Kotb Sends Selena Gomez Supportive Message Amid Fertility Journey

As an ardent admirer who has walked through the labyrinth of life’s unpredictable twists and turns, I find myself deeply moved by the shared stories of resilience and courage from two extraordinary women – Selena Gomez and Hoda Kotb.

Hoda Kotb is praising Selena Gomez for her candidness.

Following the disclosure by the founder of Rare Beauty about her inability to conceive due to her intricate health background, the host of the Today show – who experienced fertility issues prior to motherhood – offered a touching gesture of empathy and solidarity in response.

During the September 10th episode of Today, Kotb expressed to co-host Jenna Bush Hager that she believed the event had always been a dream of hers. She explained, “It’s like you script your life in your mind: ‘I’ll get married here or there at this age, then I’ll have kids,’ and you can picture it. And I think that was the most challenging aspect.

Regarding Gomez expressing her plans to pursue other methods of having a family, Kotb, who shares daughters Haley (age 7) and Hope (age 5) with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, responded, “Families can take on countless forms, and they are yours completely.

Emilia Pérez, the celebrity who battles lupus and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, has shared her feelings about not being able to have her own children with Vanity Fair. She expressed that it was an experience she needed time to mourn.

Gomez, who is dating Benny Blanco, went on to say, “Things didn’t turn out exactly as I had imagined they would. I thought the process would be like it is for most people. However, I’ve come to a much better understanding about that situation now. I consider myself fortunate because there are kind individuals who are open to surrogacy and adoption, which are significant options for me.

Regarding Kotb, back in 2007, she was identified with breast cancer and followed it up with a mastectomy soon after. Fortunately, she is now cancer-free; however, on her Making Space podcast, she discussed that her treatment had prevented her from conceiving children.

So being a mom to Haley and Hope is a role she never takes for granted.

In 2021, Kotb shared with TopMob News a moment when she would ask herself questions like, “How did this occur? How did I end up with this?” However, she no longer feels unworthy of it. Instead, something shifted inside her, causing her to think, ‘You know what, I deserve these children, I deserve myself. I am enough just the way I am. I will cherish and care for these little girls as long as God allows me to have them with me.’
