Recently, the news anchor openly discussed her love life following her breakup with partner Joel Schiffman in 2022, after an eight-year relationship – and she’s confident that great things are on the horizon for her in terms of romance.
Speaking on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast on August 13, Hoda shared that when she imagines the romantic aspect of her life, she can visualize it vividly as if it’s right before her eyes. She expressed a strong belief that this experience awaits her in the future.
At age 60, she—sharing daughters Haley (age 7) and Hope (age 4) with Joel—understands that transparency arises from expressing herself genuinely for the very first time in her existence.
She clarified, “I’m seeing someone, not the idealized or manipulated version, but simply myself. It’s who I genuinely am. And when you meet me, it feels like a sense of peace, as if your heart finds a resting place.”
Indeed, when Hoda shuts her eyes, a hint of romance seems imminent to her. Although she may not picture a particular individual, she senses their spirit and their core – something she is prepared to embrace.
“She revealed a question my sister once posed to me: ‘Aren’t you anxious about not finding someone?’ I honestly assured her, ‘No, I’m far from it.’ You see, if a lie detector or my racing pulse could speak, they’d vouch for the same. My life, as unpredictable as it is, has always been this way – things take their sweet time to materialize. And frankly, I welcome this delay with open arms.”
The journalist expressed great joy at enjoying a remarkable later stage of life, stating that this was beyond anything she had ever dared to contemplate or consider feasible. Regarding dating, she is concentrating on what fits into her current lifestyle.
She stated, “At this moment, if someone were to inquire about love today, my response would be, ‘Do I have capacity and space for it today?’ To be truthful, I currently have room only for a Friday evening.”
