For several months, various sources have reported that Avalanche Software was developing an enhanced version of the blockbuster game Hogwarts Legacy, with assistance from Rocksteady Studios – known for their work on Batman: Arkham and Suicide Squad. This updated edition, rumored to be a Definitive Edition, would have featured additional content such as an expansion pack. However, it appears these plans have been abandoned.
According to Bloomberg’s report, WB Games expressed apprehension about the new content they were planning, as it might not be significant enough to warrant the proposed price for its release. The report suggests that this expansion would have featured a narrative centered around a character who was initially part of the main game but ended up being removed.
Over the past month, it’s been quite a rollercoaster for me as a die-hard fan, with WB Games facing some tough times after a series of disappointing releases. This turbulence led to some major changes, including the closure of Monolith Productions and Player First Games, and unfortunately, the shelving of their much-anticipated Wonder Woman game.
A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy remains in development at Avalanche Software.
