Hogwarts Legacy Has Sold Over 30 Million Units

As a long-time Harry Potter fan who grew up with the books and films, I can confidently say that Hogwarts Legacy has been nothing short of a magical journey for me. The game, which ended 2023 as the year’s best-selling title, has not only captured the hearts of millions but also managed to keep selling at a steady pace in 2024, surpassing the 30 million units sold mark.

In 2023, Hogwarts Legacy emerged as the top-selling game of the year, and it’s been consistently selling well in 2024 too, with its open world action RPG format.

According to a report by Variety, it’s been disclosed that the open-world action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, has surpassed 30 million global unit sales as of October. Remarkably, its sales figure was at 24 million units by the end of January. This implies that an additional 6 million copies have been sold since then, demonstrating strong and sustained sales momentum more than a year and half after its initial release.

It’s confirmed that Avalanche Software is developing a sequel to ‘Hogwarts Legacy’. This new game is expected to share storylines with the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ series on HBO.

Additionally, it’s been rumored that there might be a Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition coming out in 2025, offering around 10 to 15 extra hours of fresh material.
