As the Nintendo Switch 2 makes its debut, many original Switch games are receiving significant updates – Hogwarts Legacy is among them.
The enchanting journey across the Harry Potter world has some delightful enhancements in the Switch 2 version, making it an ideal choice for Nintendo enthusiasts to experience.
So, how much is it, what big changes are there, and how do you get it? Read on for the answers.
How much does Hogwarts Legacy for Switch 2 cost?
On the official Nintendo store, Hogwarts Legacy is priced at either £49.99 / $59.99 for the Standard Edition or £59.99 / $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition.
Or:
The Standard and Digital Deluxe versions of Hogwarts Legacy are available on the official Nintendo store, priced at £49.99 / $59.99 and £59.99 / $69.99 respectively.
If you’d rather have a tangible copy, you could purchase the game at stores such as GAME, Smyths, or Amazon in the UK.
Just like for American players, you can acquire the actual game at stores such as GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon.
What changes in the Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy?

In comparison to the first version on Nintendo Switch, Hogwarts Legacy has experienced a substantial enhancement, with the greatest improvements undeniably in terms of performance and graphics.
In its docked state, this game can run at a resolution of up to 1440p, but when it’s in handheld mode, it runs at up to 1080p. This is possible due to the inclusion of Nvidia DLSS technology in the game.
The updated version of this game offers improved anti-aliasing, enhanced lighting effects, and superior textures, resulting in a significantly more fluid frame rate compared to the original Switch release.
As a gamer myself, I’ve got to say, despite my best efforts, the game just isn’t hitting that smooth 60 frames per second mark yet. It’s still chugging along at 30FPS, and let me tell you, this might not be what some fellow gamers were hoping for, especially given it doesn’t seem to have Nvidia Frame Generation on board.
Fortunately, it compensates for that in a way by offering substantially quicker loading times, so you don’t have to wait as long.
Last, but not least, the game features mouse support thanks to the new Switch 2 Joy-Cons.
How to get the Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 upgrade
If you currently possess Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch version 1, and desire the enhanced features of an updated edition, fortunately, you won’t need to purchase another full version.
Regardless if you have the digital or hardcopy version, as long as both are linked to the same Nintendo account that your new Switch 2 is signed into, you’re good to go to the eShop and locate Hogwarts Legacy.
At that location, you can purchase the Switch 2 upgrade for around £8 or $10. Following this, you will be able to download an update that completely upgrades your game version – easy as pie!
