Hollow Knight: Silksong, despite not having a confirmed release date yet, hasn’t stopped Team Cherry from playing a delightful game of double entendre. After keeping their fans on edge for years with a leisurely development pace, they’re now teasing players with an image of a delectable chocolate cake.
Recently, a significant update began gaining traction on Reddit a few days back (thanks to IGN). It was observed that Team Cherry’s director, William Pellen, switched his Twitter profile picture to a tantalizing image of a rich, mouthwatering chocolate cake. In retrospect, it seems that Pellen may have subtly been building anticipation for the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 at that time.
Investigating the image further, it turned out that the mystery dessert was indeed a Brooklyn Blackout Cake, found on Bon Appétit’s website. However, brace yourself for what might seem like a far-fetched connection; the recipe for this cake went live on April 2nd, 2024. You may wonder why this date stands out. Well, it just so happens that the long-anticipated Nintendo Direct presentation for their soon-to-be-launched Switch 2 console has been officially scheduled for the same day in 2025!
Without a doubt, it seems we’re finally experiencing the highly anticipated, definitive, and truly imminent comeback of Hollow Knight: Silksong. How solid do you think this speculation is; likely more than half, wouldn’t you agree? Keep your anticipation simmering in the comments section below.
