Hollow Knight: Silksong fever grows again as we approach Summer Game Fest — will it finally get a release date?

As the Summer Game Fest approaches, it appears that June will resemble a festive occasion for gamers, much like Christmas. And with anticipation building, an established brand is sparking excitement among its followers once more.

Following the announcement of a release date for GTA 6, one might say that Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently the world’s most eagerly awaited game. However, unlike GTA 6, we are still unaware of its specific arrival time.

Currently, there’s a resurgence of speculation, given that the Steam packages have recently been updated. This observation was made by Wario64 on platform X.

It seems that one of the packages hasn’t received an update for more than a year now. Given that Silksong is projected to debut in 2025, it’s not entirely unexpected. In fact, both Xbox and Nintendo have hinted at its release this year, and we’re aware that it will be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Originally unveiled more than six years back, Hollow Knight: Silksong serves as the sequel to the widely popular Hollow Knight. Ever since then, its enthusiastic fanbase has eagerly anticipated a release date. Each day of these six-and-a-half years, they’ve been vocal about when they can finally get their hands on it.

Although it’s not unexpected that there will be updates on Steam’s back-end, it’s the timing that’s causing a stir since Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Showcase are taking place this very weekend.

Although Hollow Knight: Silksong hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, considering its projected 2025 release window and us being at the midpoint of the year, it wouldn’t be surprising if we were to receive some news about it soon.
