It’s hard to believe that Team Cherry’s “Hollow Knight: Silksong” is set to release this year, nearly three years after its announcement in 2019 and following several postponements. During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, we caught a brief glimpse of the game during those few seconds of footage.
Since our last update, the development team has been silent on any new information or progress. However, Matthew Griffin, who oversees marketing and publication for Silksong, shared via Twitter that “Hollow Knight: Silksong is indeed planned for release on both the Nintendo Switch AND the rumored Nintendo Switch 2.” He additionally retweeted a post from Nintendo Europe concerning a potential 2025 launch window. It’s important to note that plans can be subject to change in the gaming industry.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released not only for Nintendo Switch but also for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, it will be available on Game Pass on its launch day. The game’s narrative revolves around Hornet, the princess of Hallownest, who gets captured and is taken to a different kingdom.
Besides fresh battle strategies, players will also have an opportunity to explore fresh quests, face more than 150 new adversaries, and engage with the tough Silk Soul mode. Keep an eye out for additional information and a confirmed launch date within the next few months.
To set the record straight, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on not just one but TWO Nintendo platforms – the current Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
