All of a sudden, the future’s looking a little brighter for Suikoden as a franchise.
Today, during an exclusive Suikoden livestream, I was thrilled to hear Konami announcing that the sales for Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster have been exceptionally robust since its release a few months ago, on the 6th of March.
The improved comebacks received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm from both critics and participants, sparking a genuine curiosity about the series that hadn’t been seen for many years, if not decades.
Absolutely, lacking specific sales figures, we can only make assumptions – however, it appears Konami is content with the current state of affairs based on their apparent satisfaction.
Restoring popular titles for a second release can spark enthusiasm within organizations, particularly concerning older, previously overlooked IPs. The success of the 1&2 HD Remasters might pave the way for future Suikoden developments.
Fancy the idea of Suikoden returning in a big way someday? Drop a note to Konami in the comment section below.
