As a seasoned gamer with a decade of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel both excited and slightly overwhelmed by the system requirements for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Having built and upgraded several gaming rigs over the years, I find myself once again faced with the daunting task of deciding whether to invest in a new graphics card or settle for lower settings.
Next week, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to launch, and developers Nixxes have disclosed the system requirements for PC players to run this open-world action RPG across different graphical settings. Regardless of your system setup, a minimum of 135 GB will be required for installation.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d say for smooth gameplay at 720p with 30 frames per second and lower graphics settings, you’ll need a system equipped with an Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a GPU like the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 4 GB. If you’re aiming for medium-quality gameplay at 1080p with 60 frames per second, consider upgrading to a Core i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and either an RTX 3060 or a Radeon RX 5700 graphics card.
To achieve top-tier performance, you’ll need a system with capabilities that support either 1440p/60 FPS or 4K/30 FPS. This can be achieved with a Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 7 3700X processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800 graphics card. If you’re aiming for the absolute best, to run 4K/60 FPS at Very High settings, you’ll need a Core i7-11700 or Ryzen 7 5700X processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card.
On October 31st, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will debut on both PS5 and PC, priced at $49.99. If you’re an owner of the original or Complete Edition, you can grab it for just $9.99. The remaster offers significant enhancements to character actions, plant life density, textures, and lighting. Additionally, it boasts over 10 hours of fresh motion capture animations.
