Hot Milk: Sex Education Stars’ Film Gets New Release Date After Delay!

In the latest update, the upcoming drama movie titled “Hot Milk,” featuring actresses Emma Mackey known for her role in “Sex Education” and Fiona Shaw from “Bad Sisters,” has pushed back its initial release date approximately 4 weeks due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Initially slated for a cinema release in the UK and Ireland on the 30th of May, 2025, the movie, provided by MUBI, has been rescheduled to premiere instead on the 4th of July, 2025.

The film “Hot Milk” is helmed by debut director Rebecca Lenkiewicz, featuring an impressive cast that includes Vicky Krieps (“Phantom Thread”), Vincent Perez (“Alone in Berlin”), Yann Gael (“Gladiator II”), and Patsy Ferran (“Mickey 17”).

2023 marked the last time Mackey had a project release, during which he was featured in both the concluding season of Sex Education and the highly successful movie “Barbie.

In a sweltering Spanish summer, the story unfolds around Rose (Fiona Shaw) and her daughter Sofia (Emma Mackey). They journey to the coastal town of Almería in search of Gómez (Vincent Perez), an intriguing healer who could potentially unravel the mystery behind Rose’s ailment.

However, in the sunlit town of Sofia, where she’d been confined due to her mother’s health situation until now, Sofia starts to break free from her shyness when she encounters the captivating allure of a nomadic traveler named Ingrid (played by Vicky Krieps).

The summary proceeds: “Sofia’s newfound liberty starts causing tension with her overprotective mother. Under the scorching sun, their connection festers with suppressed anger and hostility, potentially shredding the delicate bond that keeps them connected.

Director Lenkiewicz is recognized for her contributions in playwriting and screenwriting, having penned scripts for movies such as “She Said Colette” and “Disobedience,” along with television shows including “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” “The Eddy,” and “Small Axe.
