As a devoted fan who has weathered countless storms and dragons, I must say, I find myself once again standing at the precipice of dismay. The unrelenting leaks from House of the Dragon‘s Season 2 finale have left me feeling like a hapless maester poring over old scrolls, trying to piece together the fragments of a story that was meant to be savored in its entirety.
In the run-up to the Season 2 finale of “House of the Dragon”, HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery are once more grappling with significant leaks online. On Tuesday, just days before the season finale is due on HBO, a number of clips from the episode were posted on TikTok, giving many viewers a sneak peek at what lies ahead in the show.
Over a dozen clips of the final episode of “House of the Dragon” were uploaded to a recently created TikTok account on Tuesday. These clips, which appeared to be screen recordings, had not been posted before and seemed designed solely for sharing online. It remains uncertain how this user obtained access to the “House of the Dragon” episode prematurely.
The original content and videos have been deleted, however, they managed to reveal significant spoilers about “House of the Dragon” to many viewers beforehand. A majority of these videos had accumulated over 100,000 views each, prior to being taken down. We reached out to HBO for a comment on the leak, but we haven’t received a response yet.
The second season of “House of the Dragon” has remained a significant success for both HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform, Max. The Season 2 debut this past summer contributed significantly to Max recording its highest daily stream count yet.
The eighth episode of this season concludes on Sunday evening, yet HBO is already gearing up for another chapter. Intriguingly, the series was granted a third season even before the second one debuted. This ongoing storyline has delved deeper into the catastrophic Targaryen civil war, famously known as the Dance of the Dragons. As suggested by its name, the colossal dragons have assumed a more significant position throughout this season, playing a pivotal role in the narrative.
As a passionate gamer diving into the world of Westeros, I’m eagerly awaiting each new episode of “House of the Dragon” airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. This gripping series, set 200 years before the events we witnessed in “Game of Thrones,” finds us on the precipice of a devastating civil war. The Green and Black Councils are locked in a fierce struggle for power, with King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra at the heart of it all. It’s a must-watch for any fan eager to unravel the tapestry of intrigue spun by George R.R. Martin in his “Fire & Blood” book.
The principal actors for the series House of the Dragon feature Matt Smith portraying Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke taking on the role of Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best playing Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Steve Toussaint acting as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Fabien Frankel in the part of Ser Criston Cole, Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as King Aegon II Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno assuming the role of Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans playing Ser Otto Hightower.
