A French woman claims she lost numerous dollars due to being tricked online by someone pretending to be Brad Pitt.
53-year-old Anne, going by that name, recently featured on the French news program ‘Sept à huit’, where she revealed a heartbreaking tale. She explained that she had almost entirely depleted her savings after being tricked into believing she was in a romantic relationship with an Oscar winner.
In February 2023, Anne was contacted by a person who introduced herself as Brad’s mother, Jane Etta Hillhouse, according to The Times. She said to Anne, “Your type is the one Brad requires.
At first, Anne harbored doubts, but she persisted with their exchange of letters. However, it wasn’t until someone allegedly named Brad contacted her saying, “My mother has shared many stories about you,” that the correspondence continued.
Initially, Anne admitted she thought it was a hoax or absurd, as reported by French news station BFM TV. However, she confessed that she’s not familiar with social media platforms and therefore didn’t fully grasp the situation unfolding around her.
Anne said she started developing feelings after receiving love poems from the impersonator.
She clarified that not many men express themselves in such a manner. The gentleman I was conversing with, however, possessed a knack for communicating effectively with women, and his interactions were always tastefully executed.
After Anne revealed that she received a divorce settlement from her former spouse, the suspect reportedly began inquiring about financial aid. Anne claimed that the individual pretending to be Brad stated he was locked out of his bank accounts due to his divorce with Angelina Jolie and required a loan for purported medical treatments for cancer.
“It hurt me to do it,” she shared, “but I told myself that I might save a man’s life.”
During her interview on “Sept à huit”, Anne displayed pictures she claimed were evidence of Brad supposedly being hospitalized. These photos, featuring the “Fight Club” actor superimposed against hospital settings, seemed to have been created using artificial intelligence.
In the summer of 2024, Anne admitted that she didn’t discover she had been tricked until Brad, who was genuine and accompanied by his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, appeared. By this time, she admitted to having sent around $850,000 to the imposter Brad.

Per BFM TV, Anne has since filed a complaint with law enforcement officials about her situation.
In response to being questioned, she pondered aloud on the reason they selected her for such a hurtful act, as quoted by AFP during her interview on Sept à huit. She has always been peaceful and kind, and these individuals, in her opinion, belong in a place of suffering.
TopMob News has reached out to Brad’s reps for comment but hasn’t heard back.
