How LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Brought Jedi Bob to Life

As a lifelong Star Wars and LEGO enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” on Disney+ this weekend. The inclusion of Jedi Bob, a character who originated from LEGO sets, has me particularly excited. Now, I’m not going to lie; I’ve got more than a few Jedi Bob action figures on my shelf, so it’s safe to say that he’s a deep cut for some, but gold for me!

This weekend, the four-part series titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuilding Galaxies” will premiere on Disney+, offering a fresh perspective on the familiar Star Wars universe. A significant character in these episodes is Jedi Bob (previously an unnamed Jedi from the LEGO sets based on Attack of the Clones, who has since grown into a beloved figure among fans). During an interview with ComicBook regarding “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuilding Galaxies”, executive producers and writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit discussed their choice to incorporate Jedi Bob into the series’ alternate reality.

In our conversation, Samit shared an early concept he had for the project. As a die-hard LEGO enthusiast with a deep affection for both LEGO and Star Wars since childhood, combining these two passions has been a dream come true for him. He proposed the idea of featuring Jedi Bob in their celebration of LEGO Star Wars for its 25th anniversary. Some people were unfamiliar with this character, but those who knew recognized it as a deep cut. Despite initial confusion, everyone agreed that it was a great idea. It’s been gratifying to see long-time LEGO Star Wars fans get so excited about the return of Jedi Bob.

What Is LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy About?

In the game titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy“, a common Nerf-herder named Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) uncovers a potent artifact from a secret Jedi temple, causing the entire Star Wars universe to be jumbled. He’s unwittingly swept into an exciting, chaotic, and twisted adventure in a revamped galaxy. Here, the good guys turn out to be evil, villains transform into heroes, and Sig is tasked with restoring order by becoming the hero who can reassemble all the scattered pieces and save everyone.

In the voiceover lineup for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy , you’ll find Gaten Matarazzo playing Sig Greebling, Tony Revolori voicing Dev Greebling, Bobby Moynihan bringing Jedi Bob to life, Marsai Martin as Yesi Scala, Michael Cusack portraying Servo, Ahmed Best reprising his role as Darth Jar Jar, and Mark Hamill lending his voice to Luke Skywalker.

The new series, “LEGO Star Wars: Reassemble the Galaxy,” will make its premiere only on Disney+ starting September 13th. For those who haven’t subscribed to Disney+, you can explore it by clicking here.
