Miley Cyrus has broken her silence about her dad’s new relationship.
Following the confirmation that her estrangement from Billy Ray Cyrus has ended after over a year of family feud speculation, the singer of “Flowers” expressed her opinions about his new relationship with Elizabeth Hurley and her mom Tish Cyrus’ nearly two-year marriage to Dominic Purcell, who is known for his role in “Prison Break”.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, published on May 31st, Miley stated, “As my mom and stepdad grow closer, and as I see my dad finding his own happiness, I find myself able to love them separately, rather than just as a combined parental unit.” She added, “I’m maturing and handling this situation responsibly.
The 32-year-old went on to say, “Initially, it’s challenging because the child within you responds swiftly before the mature part can say, ‘That’s your father, but that’s just another person who deserves joy and contentment.’ Now, my inner child has come to understand this.
Approximately a week following Billy Ray and Elizabeth’s public debut as a couple on the red carpet, an interview with Miley was released. The event took place at the opening dinner for the “Orizzonti | Rosso” exhibition at Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Italy on May 24.
