Pamela Anderson is loving this new chapter in her life.
Reflecting on the emotional journey portrayed in the controversial series “Pam & Tommy,” the actress savors the recognition from numerous award nominations for her role in “The Last Showgirl.
Pamela clarified during her appearance on Andy Cohen Live on January 9th, “I had no knowledge of it at all, I wasn’t part of it in any way. It was odd that nobody reached out to me, and that felt quite painful.
She underscored that the production, featuring Lily James portraying a former Baywatch cast member and Sebastian Stan playing Tommy Lee, was morally questionable or unacceptable.
The 57-year-old went on, “In essence, you’re an open target.” People used to tell me this, a long time back – that you’re more or less in the public domain, with little to no claim on privacy. That’s a memory I hold.
Instead, she pointed out that choosing such a difficult period in her life as the theme for the series, which centers on the notorious theft of Pamela and Tommy’s sex tape, seemed peculiar to her. To make matters worse, Lily was also put forward for the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the 2022 Emmy Awards.
She highlighted the irony that the actress from “Mamma Mia 2” received recognition, even though her performance was apparently superior to hers, as she remarked to Andy, “Apparently, she managed to pull it off better than I did.
Currently, Pamela, who received nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor (Lead Role) at the 2025 SAG Awards, Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture at the 2025 Golden Globes, and Outstanding Lead Performance at the 2024 Gotham Awards for her character Shelly Gardner, is now concentrating more on what lies ahead.
She exclaimed, “This is the most rewarding outcome! I’m finally getting acknowledged for my work instead of those unflattering incidents.
The actress, who has two sons Brandon Lee Thomas (age 28) and Dylan Jagger Lee (age 27) with the drummer from Mötley Crüe, chooses not to harbor resentment towards Lily for the role, even though she felt “violated” by the filmmakers regarding the portrayal.
Back in January of ’23, I shared my feelings with The Guardian, “It’s not her doing, it’s the job she took on.” Yet, whoever crafted this role, it’s as if they snatched another piece of me, another part of my essence. It leaves me yearning for what feels like something else that was taken away.
Despite Pamela’s claim that no one contacted her, it was denied by one of the authors, D.V. DeVincentis.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in January 2022, he made it clear that Pamela Anderson was meant to know that our portrayal was incredibly positive and that we had a deep affection for her. We didn’t receive a reply, but given her experiences and the circumstances under which we reached out, it was reasonable not to expect one.
