How Serena Kerrigan and Juliette Porter Were Both Nearly on ‘Summer House’

The latest installment of “Summer House” could have included social media sensation Serena Kerrigan and reality TV personality Juliette Porter from “Siesta Key” – however, the series opted for a change in course instead.

On June 23rd, Kerrigan, who is 31 years old, confessed on the “Casual Chaos” podcast hosted by Gia Giudice that she had been offered a spot for season 10 of “Summer House.

She clarified by saying, “They didn’t propose something and I declined? That’s not the case. Instead, we had a call scheduled together.” She further elaborated that she went through an interview process. “I was open to it,” she said. “They even asked me about ‘The Real Housewives.’ I told them, ‘I’m not actually a Housewife, but I could be part of the storyline.’

The popular figure on TikTok, boasting close to 600,000 fans, disclosed that her choice to decline those opportunities stemmed from her mother’s career in unscripted television during her formative years.

She openly discussed her experiences backstage, expressing that being part of such shows can be quite frightening due to the lack of control over how footage is edited. Despite finding it intriguing, she admitted her emotional nature makes it unsuitable for her.

27-year-old Porter revealed on June 23rd that there had been previous discussions regarding her appearance on the show ‘Summer House’ with its producers.

Previously, the person in charge of producing my show Siesta Key also served as the casting director for Summer House last year. I even had an interview for Summer House, but it lasted around three hours. Unfortunately, they decided not to choose me. This is what Porter shared on the “The Toast” podcast, having been a cast member on Siesta Key from 2017 to 2023.

The reality star shared she doesn’t “know why” they didn’t go for her.

She disclosed, ‘Perhaps they didn’t care for me or perhaps I was already here before them.’ I believe they chose Lexi [Wood]. I’m not entirely sure about the process.

The show titled “Summer House” revolves around a group of friends who own a shared house for their weekend getaways during summer months. The latest season 9, which began in February, features the stars Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Paige DeSorbo, Lindsay Hubbard, Ciara Miller, Gabby Prescod, Carl Radke, Jesse Solomon, West Wilson, Imrul Hassan and Wood, aged 27.

For the upcoming Season 10 of Bravo’s series, it’s been announced that some cast members won’t be reprising their roles. Among them is DeSorbo, a seven-season veteran, who has confirmed his departure at the age of 32.

She recently posted an update on Instagram Stories: “I’ve decided not to come back to ‘Summer House,'” she said. Being a part of this show has been an incredibly rewarding experience – the friendships, the excitement, the laughter, all memories I’ll cherish forever. You’ve watched me mature over these past seven summers. I’m eternally thankful for the memories, the camaraderie, and the chances this journey offered me. However, just as every good thing (and some mistakes) eventually ends, it’s time to wrap up this chapter.
