Read on and we’ll tell you how to clear your bounty while avoiding all of these issues.

How to Clear Bounty Without Getting Arrested | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

To start off, the safest way to eliminate your debts without facing arrest is by becoming part of the Thieves Guild. Since you might not be a member yet, I recommend you take a look at our guide on how to get into the Thieves Guild. It provides all the necessary information!

As a new recruit in the Thieves Guild, all that’s left for me now is to connect with one of the guild’s leading figures. This could be none other than Armand Christophe, who resides in the bustling Waterfront District of the Imperial City, or the enigmatic S’Krivva, who can be found in the ancient city of Bravil.

To evade notice from guards, a more convenient route to find Armand Christophe is by first quick-traveling to the Dzonot Cave located in the southwest corner of the Imperial City. From there, you can swim towards the Imperial City’s Waterfront District.

Armand will remain at the place you initially encountered him, ready to welcome you into the Thieves Guild. Simply approach him and request that he help clear your debts by settling your fines and bounty. However, be aware that he may ask for half of your current bounty as a condition. This is a more affordable option compared to paying off the entire bounty, and it eliminates any chance of being apprehended!

Additionally, another option is to request the Imperial Guards for permission to leave. But, it’s important to note that this can only happen when all these requirements are fulfilled:

  • The guard who tries to arrest you should have 90 or more Disposition.
  • You need to have less than 100 Infamy.
  • Your total bounty should be less than 1000 Gold.

Should you satisfy all these requirements, the guard won’t call attention to it and will instead acknowledge you as a friend, thereby waiving any penalties against you. In other words, he’ll erase your debt, allowing you to leave unpunished!

And that’s it! Here are all the methods to eliminate your bounty without being caught in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
