In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are some optional missions, or side quests, that become unavailable once you finish a specific main story mission. While progressing through The Lion’s Den quest, you may notice a few symbols in the shape of stars on your map. If you approach these markers, you will have an opportunity to start one of those side missions.
In the course of The Lion’s Den mission, you come across an engaging sub-quest named Spoils of War, which kicks off upon chatting with Captain Puta. This quest offers a decision point, and we’ll help you decide on the best option.
How To Start Spoils of War Quest
Once you’ve made your way into Sigismund’s encampment, you can search for Captain Puta. Enter through the north gate, then veer right immediately. After a short walk, you’ll find him having lunch with his men on the left side of the camp during daylight hours.
As you manage to track down Captain Puta, I eagerly engage in conversation with him, which sets off the thrilling “Spoils of War” mission. Not long after, a captivating scene unfolds, transporting me straight into the heart of Bohunowitz.
The captain requests that you inspect the supplies at four distinct locations. At each spot, gather the supplies and then place them onto a cart.
Once you’ve completed that task, feel free to chat with Bynyek to inquire if the townsfolk might be concealing something. You’ll need to pass a skill check to extract this information from him, and upon success, he will share some locations where additional supplies may be found.
Secret Supplies Location

Smil secretly stashed some food in the barn situated at the back of his house. If you’d like to retrieve it, look for a hidden bag at the bottom right corner of the haystack in the barn.
In that bag, there’s more food than you see elsewhere. If your goal is to cause the villagers to go hungry, then take the food and store it in the chest. On the other side of the courtyard, you can discover some beer kept behind the cellar door. That door is challenging to picklock. Once you retrieve the beer from there, you will have achieved “Find the hidden beer”, a secret objective.
Once you’ve located the beer, feel free to engage with Smil and address the situation. He might try to dodge responsibility, but you can opt for the “Let’s discuss a proposal” approach. Then, request silver from him. In response, Smil may ask that you return in a few days so he can stockpile some beer to sell and compensate you.
Once you find the secret stash of beer, don’t hesitate to let Puta know.)

Upstairs in Fowl’s barn, there are additional resources hidden away. However, I wouldn’t recommend taking them all, as doing so might make Bynyek accuse me of hoarding too much loot.
To locate Fowl’s concealed cattle, you might want to trace their footprints in the dirt. Whether you choose to inform the captain or keep silent is up to you.
You may also check on the injured Vitek at Willow’s residence. Once checked, provide him with either some alcohol or a painkiller concoction. Subsequently, clean his wound using alcohol and wrap it up with bandages. After he has healed, you can inquire about what led to his injury.

Later on, feel free to engage with Willow and share that you’ve attended to Vitek. In response, Willow should provide an account of his recent experiences. At this point, you have the option to remain silent or inform the captain about the fate of the soldiers.
The Best Outcome

The ideal situation is for the conflict to be averted completely, if possible. If the villagers fail to gather sufficient resources, the captain may instruct you and your comrades to eliminate them all. You could choose to support the villagers and fight the soldiers, or align with Puta to destroy the townspeople.
To avert the worst scenario, gather the initial supplies provided by the villagers and approach the captain. When asked, select the option “I discovered some valuable items” and consider spending between 1500-2000 groschen from your own funds.
If you don’t manage to persuade him, his suspicion might lead him to attack you. In that case, you would have to eliminate all the soldiers. Although the battle isn’t particularly challenging, the captain wears quite impressive equipment. Therefore, it’s wiser to find a peaceful resolution instead.
either protect the villagers or put them in harm’s way. Yet, remember, wealth can be replenished, and given your past battles, you’ll find yourself well-equipped with armor and weapons. You might consider offloading those items at the camp, which could fetch you a significant sum, far exceeding 1500-2000 Groschen.
