The game “Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl” includes some tough challenges, and one of them is the mission named Ad Astra Per Aspera. Following the completion of the quest titled “In Search of a Guide”, you’ll be provided with all the essential details about the Clear Sky base.
To reach the base, you must disable four Psi-Beacons, a task that won’t be an easy walk in the park. You should be prepared for encounters with numerous mutants and strange creatures lurking near these beacons. This means you’ll have to engage in battles and navigate through them to disarm the beacons, which is challenging, but it seems this isn’t the toughest part of your mission.
How To Get The Suit With High Psi-Protection
After chatting with Nimble, new locations will show up on your map. Following these coordinates will lead you to the specific Psi-Beacon, but navigating through the swamps could prove challenging. You might also encounter an optional task hinting at obtaining a protective suit with enhanced psi capabilities.
Opting for the Cuirass Exoskeleton Suit, one of the top armors in the game, is a wise decision if you’re willing to make the journey for it. But if extensive travel isn’t your preference, you can alternatively complete the Side Hustle quest to acquire the SSP-99 Ecologist Suit instead.
The game doesn’t provide clues on how to obtain the suit, but we discovered one for you. To find the suit, you should make your way to the SKD Assembly Unit, which is located in Cooling Towers. Keep in mind that it may take a considerable amount of your time to reach this place as it’s quite distant, but the journey will be worthwhile.
Upon reaching your destination, remain vigilant since it’s teeming with many aggressive soldiers. Arm yourself, pick them off one at a time.
After defeating them in battle, proceed upstairs until you come across a narrow corridor in front of you. Continue along the path, ascend the stairs, move forward and slightly to your left, you’ll find some loot and a Cuirass Exoskeleton Suit.
Wearing the current version of this suit, you’ll find yourself moving more like a leisurely walker rather than a sprinter or fast walker. It’s advisable to enhance or upgrade the suit at least once if you want to achieve a faster pace.
Once you’ve got your armor, brace yourself for further battles, since the troops are about to invade in a moment.
Navigating Through The Swamps
As a gamer embarking on this quest, conquering the murky swamps to reach the elusive Psi-Beacons might just be its most challenging aspect. Therefore, gear up and ensure your suit boasts top-notch Psi-Protection – it’s essential for survival! However, simply donning the protective suit isn’t enough; you’ll also need to master the art of maneuvering through these treacherous wetlands.
The following are some tips to keep in mind:
- If you haven’t got the suit, then make sure you have enough Psi-Block pills, as they will help you get rid of the psi-influence.
- Make sure to avoid deep water, as it will slow you down, leaving you with no stamina and making the quest even more annoying and time-consuming.
- Pop up a Psi-Block before getting too close to the Psi-Beacon to have a better chance of survival.
- Try to follow the dry path more so you can save stamina.
How To Deactivate The Pumping Station Psi-Beacon
Upon arriving at the Pumping Station, you may begin to experience faint hallucinations, but these can be significantly reduced if you are wearing the protective suit or have consumed a Psi-Block.
Remember that the Controller, a particularly pesky adversary, will make an appearance. To take it down, you’ll want to eliminate the zombies first, and once the Controller stands alone, arm yourself with your shotgun and adopt an offensive strategy. Avoid letting it detect you from afar, as its attack range is quite expansive.
Engaging the Controller up close is advantageous since it allows for maximum damage output, and it limits the frequency of its psi attacks.
Or:
In a close combat scenario with the Controller, you can inflict the most damage, and it will have fewer opportunities to employ its psi abilities.
After I’ve taken down every last opponent, I’ll make my way upwards to switch off the Psi-Beacon. Climbing up shouldn’t pose much of a challenge, since the path is quite clear and easy to follow.
How To Deactivate The Burnt Farmstead Psi-Beacon
After disabling the initial Psi-Beacon, it’s now time for you to move towards the Burnt Farmstead. As its name implies, this location is rife with Flame Irregularities, so tread carefully as you can’t just wander aimlessly. However, these Flame Irregularities can also be exploited for your benefit.
Upon reaching your destination, expect a pack of sightless hounds to confront you. To eliminate these dogs, use your ability to ignite anomalies, which will trigger when you’re nearby. But remember not to overly depend on the anomalies, and take down as many dogs as you can by firing at them instead.
After that, go ahead and shut off the Psi-Beacon located on a watchtower. Once you’ve completed this task, prepare for an ambush by additional mutants. Among them will be Psy Dog, a mutant who can induce a headache in you. Initially, it will seem like just one dog, but as soon as combat begins, it has the ability to replicate itself.
If you don’t want to fight the Psy Dog, you can always run away, as it will also save you time.
In simpler terms, your objective should be identifying the genuine one among them, since it’s likely to avoid confrontation. Once you locate it, show no mercy and act swiftly to eliminate the mutant before it multiplies its clones.
How To Deactivate The Old Church Psi-Beacon
At the Old Church, you’ll encounter Bayun, a nimble mutated cat. Since he’s quick, try to dispatch him swiftly, ideally using a shotgun. After you’ve vanquished the mutant, search for yellow boards on the ground. Once found, use your knife to shatter them and then jump down.
Before jumping, remember to remove your Cuirass Exoskeleton Suit if it hasn’t been upgraded. Without an upgrade, you won’t be able to sprint fast enough to perform the jump.
Next, you’ll need to dash and leap towards the stairs ahead for continued progress. Keep an eye out as you’ll soon spot a staircase. Once spotted, break the box in front of you first, then accelerate and bound your way to the staircase.
Once you’ve ascended the stairs, make your way to the rooftop and locate the attic on your left. There, you’ll find the Psi-Beacon, so disable it. Then, go in the opposite direction to gather some treasures.
How To Deactivate The Second Vanguard Psi-Beacon
This is going to be the final beacon, but reaching it will be troublesome.
To get to the Second Vanguard, aim for the path that appears greener, as it’s likely to lead the way.
Upon arriving, I find myself standing before an illuminated beacon perched high up on the tower peak. Climb the nearby ladder to get there and shut it off.
After disabling all Psi-Beacons, promptly locate a safe haven within the burrow settlement, since an emanation will ensue. Along your journey, you may encounter mutants like Bloodsuckers, but persist in combat against them, for the emanation could prove fatal.
Upon arriving at the shelter, make your way down, continue forward, and a scene will play out. Once that scene ends, Faust will vanish, but you’ll acquire his gun and regain possession of your Scanner. This action will also wrap up the Ad Astra Per Aspera mission.
