How To Defeat Princess Ilyna

Princess Ilyna is the thirteenth character you must conquer as part of the Strange Melody mission. Despite not having a scene showing her transition, it appears she has three distinct stages. Here’s an overview of each phase to help you grasp their individual characteristics better.

To conquer Princess Ilyna successfully, aim for a character level of 111. If you find yourself not quite there yet, spend some time farming experience points prior to engaging in battle. And remember, if you’re finding it challenging to defeat her, don’t hesitate to summon for assistance!

First Phase

Ilyna is a challenging supervisor, but she does have certain vulnerabilities. Her primary weakness lies in her composure, which can be exploited. Many of her assaults can be cut short by your strikes, and she doesn’t possess immense stamina either. Yet, if you’re not vigilant, her rapid succession of attacks could deplete nearly all your health in a split second.

She quickly regains her energy when given some respite, making it challenging to disrupt her composure for a prolonged period.

When the summons arrive, it provides an opportune moment for healing or regaining balance. Since he persistently attacks her without allowing her to recuperate quickly, this gives you ample time to do so. In the initial stage, she won’t be too difficult to avoid or block. However, be mindful of her repeated thrusting attacks.

Second Phase

As soon as she moves into the second stage, Princess Ilyna will retreat momentarily and then launch a series of violet orbs across the battlefield. These spheres aren’t instantaneous, giving you a chance to observe their flight path before they make contact.

Head to the secure location, but remain vigilant because she may launch another attack in the same manner. This move is tricky to avoid, and receiving a hit from it could be fatal, particularly if your vitality isn’t at its maximum level.

To avoid disorder, be mindful not to linger in the path that the attack creates, as it may still pose a danger. Once the attack concludes, you’ll find that she has addressed her vulnerability and will return to the ground.

It’s not invincible, but it’ll take some time to crack. In this phase, instead of wasting time parrying or guarding, I need to focus on evasion. My best strategy now is to dodge and weave around the shield, looking for an opening.

Due to the circumstances now, Princess Ilyna will be unleashing a barrage of magical assaults. It’s crucial to note that this isn’t merely projectiles hurled at you; rather, she will summon magic beneath you, which can catch you off guard and potentially hit you if you’re not vigilant. Avoid trying to block or parry it – instead, focus on dodging the magical spells as they appear.

Given the game’s new mechanics, as it encourages you to be more offensive to break through the shield, remember to tread carefully. While offense is crucial, avoid reckless charging. Since she has the ability to mitigate some of your damage and her poise has significantly increased, she may unexpectedly unleash a wide-area magic attack. In such cases, swiftly dodge backwards for safety.

Third Phase

In the second stage, Princess Ilyna took some time to fight back. But when it came to the recovery of her stamina and dispelling her shield, she had a unique trick up her sleeve – she would increasingly rely on her rapier. As we move into the third phase, she’d swiftly close the gap and execute three consecutive thrusts.

During this stage, Ilyna will become significantly more aggressive, and her attacks will deal much greater damage. She’ll even have a grab attack. Keep in mind that Ilyna will empower her rapier with chaos magic, so be prepared to evade her enhanced attacks.

Instead of trying to block them, which could prove challenging, a miss might lead to significant harm. Therefore, it’s wiser to evade those types of assaults.

Be mindful not to waste time during this stage excessively, since she may move on to her subsequent phase, which could make the battle frustrating.
