In the video game Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, certain mutants can prove quite frustrating, particularly when you’re unsure of how to defeat them. One such irritating creature is the Psy Dog, often regarded as the most annoying in the entire game. This specific mutant can pose a challenge, especially in open areas, as it has the ability to create multiple copies of itself.
Once a battle commences, it will generate replicas, indeed, these are mere illusions but they significantly intensify the conflict. This means that even if you’ve eliminated every single one of its duplicates, it simply resumes the process. Yet, there is a method to counter this trick.
How To Kill Psy Dogs
As soon as you come across a Psy Dog, it will promptly generate duplicates. These duplicates are illusions, yet they can still cause harm to you. However, you’ll be able to eliminate these copies with just one shot. But if you take too much time, the main body will revert them back to their original state. This is one of the most irritating mutants for a good reason.
In a confined area, it’s best to battle this specific mutant because keeping track of its physical form may get confusing in open spaces. When confronting the Psy Dog in an open environment, seeking elevated ground could provide an advantage.
It might be more effective to employ Augmented Reality (AR) since the genuine body won’t engage in combat. Distinguishing the true from the false can be challenging, but if it’s an illusion, a single shot should make it disappear. On the other hand, if it’s the real body, it will attempt to flee, so be ready to act swiftly and aggressively once you identify the genuine one.
You can use a grenade to kill some of the copies to find the real body quickly.
If you manage to locate the genuine body at the outset, then disregarding the replicas and employing a shotgun to eliminate it could be an effective tactic. If, however, you’re finding yourself uncertain and your ammo is being squandered because Psy Dog keeps regenerating the illusions, it might be wise to retreat from the encounter.
