In my quest to unearth the mysteries of Avalon and the Red Plague in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, I find myself traversing vast landscapes. From sun-kissed coastlines teeming with elusive Drowners, to shrouded woods where wolves prowl for sustenance, there’s no shortage of sights to behold. And when time is of the essence, I can always rely on swift travel to get me where I need to be.
If you haven’t come across the lanterns for fast travel or prefer enjoying the scenery while working on your next mission, why not travel elegantly with a horse? However, keep in mind that these luxuries are scarce, so you might need to obtain one from another person rather than buying it from a trustworthy vendor.
How To Get A Mount
As a gamer, one of the earliest spots where I discovered I could get a horse was nestled in the Horns of the South region. If you look carefully, you can spot the horse beneath the bridge that slices through the heart of this region – it’s none other than the King’s Road!
Starting from the South’s Horns, travel north on the primary route, then veer slightly eastward before you come across the Forgotten Graveyard and carry on moving forward along the road beyond the Archspire.
As a fervent admirer, I’d love to share a tip: If you find yourself at Hunter’s Camp, don’t forget to engage with Margh. This conversation will set you on the path of the Dead As Dreams side quest, a significant step towards earning Fearghas’ favor in your Shadow Over The Horns journey.
Once you reach Archspire’s fast travel spot, proceed in the northeastern direction for a short walk. You’ll come across a broken bridge in the middle of your path. Underneath this damaged bridge, you’ll discover a small campsite with some crates, barrels, and other items to plunder. There’s also an enemy named Desperate Peasant there, along with a solitary horse near a tent.
If you move towards the horse’s front, you can choose to stroke it, whereas standing beside the saddle provides an opportunity for you to be prompted to climb on, or mount, the horse. (The word “Świerkoń” is not relevant in this context and has been omitted.)

If you’ve already ventured into the second area, Cuanacht, there are three more horses available for you: one is near a hostile Knight enemy by the southern bridge, and Daisy and Clover are situated next to the Farmlands fast travel point. However, acquiring those two horses is generally viewed as theft.
At the Farmlands, you can get a Daisy for either 300 or 250 Gold by visiting Rob and Gil’s residence, observing their interaction, and subsequently talking to Rob about what you saw.
From now on, you have permanent riding privileges for that horse. You can summon it in various places by opening the Quick Use Menu, followed by clicking on the horse icon located on the left side of the menu.
Horses have many similarities in terms of control as you do. Sprinting and jumping are performed in much the same way. Moreover, horses can move backwards to adjust their direction or slow down, but it’s essential to note that unlike riding a horse, you cannot initiate an attack while mounted on it.
Apart from Świerkoń and the Disgraced Knight’s steed, there are other horses available to discover. Keep in mind that once you mount a new horse, the current one you’re using will be replaced.

Generally speaking, you should primarily control the horse’s direction with the camera. However, if you need to make sharp turns or spin on the spot, it would be more effective to use the Left Stick or keys designated for movement. Keep in mind that pressing the Secondary Action button will cause your character to dismount from the horse.
As an avid enthusiast, I must share that most steeds you encounter outpace me during a walk and sprint, making for swift land exploration – unless I’ve heavily invested in my speed through the Skill Tree or equipped items specifically designed to enhance my pace.
They additionally facilitate swift maneuvering even when burdened, making them ideal for navigating with a bulky load of items to be sold to a vendor.
