In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a comedy/adventure film featuring John Cleese, Terry Jones, and Eric Idle, Idle has revealed that he will be bringing his one-man show to the UK following a highly successful tour in Australia and New Zealand.
In a captivating solo performance, Idle teams up with The Virtual Band for a night filled with sing-alongs, shared memories, seldom-seen video clips, and laughter.
Since Eric Idle has been part of the entertainment industry since 1963, you’re guaranteed a fantastic performance from an experienced showman. Interestingly, when reflecting on his extensive career, Eric himself humorously quipped: “Regrettably, I can’t seem to find the exit. It appears my purpose in life is to bring joy to others!
Back then, you might recall Idle’s latest solo concert in the UK took place during the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony. He captivated an audience of 80,000 people by leading a communal rendition of Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, surrounded by Morris dancers, a rugby player choir, and roller-skating nuns.
In 2014, Eric Idle teamed up once more with his fellow Monty Python troupe members for the show titled “Monty Python Live (Mostly)”. This event was a massive success, running for 10 nights straight at the O2 arena, with Idle serving as both writer and director.
