In the bustling city of Thirdborn within Shatterscarp, Heart of Valor serves as a significant side quest waiting for your discovery right upon entry. Seek out Chiko who can be found on the left path beyond the entrance. She will gladly share with you the specifics of her requirements to set this quest in motion.

How To Reach Sand Sea Ruins

Following your meeting with Chiko, your next step will be to speak with Keipo, who is located in a tiny house situated down the alleyway to the left where Chiko was positioned. He’ll share information about an item he concealed within the Sand Sea Ruins and request that you fetch it for him.

The Sand Sea Ruins are situated on Shatterscarp’s eastern border, but access inside is restricted through the main entrance. To bypass this, follow the path to the left of the entrance and locate a ladder suitable for parkour nearby. After climbing up, leap into the hole you’ll find at the top, allowing you to unlock and enter the ruins from within.

While descending into the hole, there’s an opportunity for you to pause at the midway point to collect one of the Shatterscarp Woedica totem pieces.

How To Beat Sand Sea Ruins

Upon entering the Sand Sea Ruins initially and proceeding along the path for some distance, you’ll find yourself in a chamber containing two levers. The first lever carries a warning not to touch it, and acting on it will set off a trap that inflicts harm upon you. On the other hand, you can manipulate the second lever to summon an elevator, which allows you to descend further.

After reaching the lower section, leap so that you clear the three doors to your left, and notice a breakable wall directly beneath the platform you’ve just jumped from. Destroy this wall and you can trigger the generator within using Giatta’s skill, either her electric weapon or another means.

As you turn on the generator, a conflict may ensue, and some buildings might begin swaying overhead.

After you’ve vanquished all the adversaries, make your way upward along the path to the right. You can then leap onto some recently erected structures suspended in mid-air to reach the opposite side.

Once you’ve crossed over, instead of continuing along the straight path and encountering a few more hazardous blades and arrows, consider jumping onto the platforms on your left immediately. This shortcut will lead you to an upper breakable wall, which directly accesses the subsequent group of adversaries.

Overcome these adversaries and advance to find some water and a series of stages rising ahead. By leaping onto these stages, you can ascend fully and make further progress. Along your journey, you’ll encounter a bear that must be vanquished. This, in turn, will lead you to a door which can be unlocked by the wheel located nearby.

In the adjoining room, you’ll come across the core of the Leviathan. Grabbing it will unlock a new passageway that serves as an escape route for you.

But before you decide to leave, there’s still a lot to discover about this quest. Additionally, if you look around carefully, you might find the accessory known as Umpara’s Promise right here.

Following your successful claim of the heart, you’ll discover a concealed entrance behind the left small pillar, close to where the pedestal with the heart was positioned. Inside this room, you’ll come across a journal that will expose Keipo’s deceptions. Post this revelation, you can engage Chiko in conversation and then return to Thirdborn to complete your quest.

What Should You Do With The Leviathan Heart

Upon your arrival at Thirdborn, you’ll be presented with several options regarding the Heart of the Leviathan – you get to decide its fate.

  • You can give it to Keipo, who intends to drink the poison inside the heart as he doesn’t want to live anymore.
  • Alternatively, you can refuse to give Keipo the heart and instead give it to Tira Nui Hajime outside his house. This will reward you with a few extra coins.
  • Finally, you can refuse to give the heart to both of them and keep it for yourself as a trinket, which increases your attack damage while draining your health passively.

Regardless of your decision throughout this quest, you will ultimately receive the Stormdancer’s Scale, Gloves, Boots, and Ring directly from Chiko in the end.
