Monster Hunter Wilds Lightcrystal location
In the Iceshard Cliffs region, you may discover Lightcrystal by mining mineral outcrops. Since this is uncommon in Low Rank, you might not have found any while gathering resources during previous missions. However, when you do obtain it, your character will display a distinctive animation showing them holding and inspecting the crystal, which should be recognizable to seasoned Monster Hunter players.
The Iceshard Cliffs are not very dense, and they’re relatively small. However, you may spot some mining sites sprinkled throughout. If you’ve recently arrived and can only access the Icy Shore Pop-up Camp, there’s only one mining site on your current level in area 3. To find more, ascend to levels 4 and 5, then search for area 8 where there are three additional mining sites. This location is also where you battle the Hirabami and lies directly opposite the upper level camp, which eventually transforms into the Icecshard Cliffs Base Camp. There’s an extra mining site in area 6 on the intermediate level as well.
Gathering these rock formations will provide you with the Icium needed for upgrading the ore tree. In case mining hasn’t yielded a Lightcrystal yet, you have three options: wait for the outcrops to replenish (you can check their timer by looking at their icon on the map), take a break at your tent to speed up time, or wait until chapter three when you defeat Xu Wu, as one of the rewards for completing that quest is always a Lightcrystal.
