In the Agrabah update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are numerous thrilling additions tailored for Disney enthusiasts. Apart from anticipating encounters with fresh characters Aladdin and Jasmine, gamers can look forward to additional features. Notably, Gameloft has introduced Tiana, who’s been busy creating a handy new slow cooker item that players can unlock by finishing a unique quest. Although Eternity Isle had a similar mechanism with Ancient Machines, the slow cooker provides base game Disney Dreamlight Valley players with a fresh way to prepare meals. However, before you can start preparing meals in batches, you’ll need to accomplish Tiana’s quest to craft the Slow Cooker.
What Does the Disney Dreamlight Valley Slow Cooker Do?
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, acquiring the slow cooker involves a few steps, but it’s a valuable addition for its extra benefits. The slow cooker allows players to arrange a series of meals to be prepared, eliminating the need to stand at the stove and cook each dish individually. This feature is particularly useful for storing meals to give as gifts or using during Dreamlight Duties to keep your energy levels high.
Just as the name suggests, a Slow Cooker requires some time to complete meals, making it ideal for preparing dishes while attending to other tasks simultaneously. Notably, even when you log out of Disney Dreamlight Valley, the Slow Cooker will still be busy cooking up meals, ensuring that players can come back to find a stockpile of ready-to-eat dishes waiting for them.
How to Start the Slow Cooker Quest
Initially, for players to embark on a fresh quest, they must ensure Tiana is present in their valley. The slow cooker becomes relevant in this new adventure, and the interaction with Tiana is essential to kick things off. You won’t need a particular level of friendship with her, but any unfinished friendship missions might have to be completed first before the quest appears on your screen.
Following the latest upgrade of Disney Dreamlight Valley, Tiana will display an icon indicating a new mission to accomplish. Engage in conversation with her, and she’ll inform you that she discovered blueprints for creating a Slow Cooker, initiating the Slow and Steady Quest. As a bonus, she’ll provide you with the Gumbo recipe – essential for using the Slow Cooker once it’s been crafted.
How to Craft the Slow Cooker
To create your Slow Cooker, we suggest utilizing the “Slow and Steady Quest” pinned on your quest tracker as a convenient guide while collecting the necessary items. Here’s a list of what you’ll need for making your Slow Cooker:
1. A sturdy cooking pot with a lid
2. Insulating material (such as a towel or foam)
3. Heat source (such as a hot plate or crockpot base)
4. Cooking ingredients (depending on the recipe you choose)
- 2500 Dreamlight – Complete Dreamlight Duties or craft using Dream Shards
- 6 Iron Ingot – Craft using Iron Ore, which is gathered by mining
- 2 Tinkering Parts – Craft using Iron Ingots
- 20 Hardwood – Gather from the Forest of Valor, Frosted Heights, Glade of Trust, and Sunlit Plateau
After gathering all the necessary materials, either proceed to your home’s crafting spot or visit Goofy in the Peaceful Meadow and create your slow cooker.
In the continuation of the Slow and Steady mission, we need to move the slow cooker into the valley, not your kitchen. Although it may seem tempting to do so, moving it there won’t count as part of the quest. To finish this stage, consider placing the slow cooker outside, maybe near Tiana’s restaurant.
How to Make Gumbo in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To finish the ‘Slow and Steady’ mission, gamers must employ the Slow Cooker to prepare three servings of Gumbo. Tiana provides the recipe, but you’ll have to engage with your inventory’s recipe book to learn it properly. Upon doing so, the Gumbo recipe will appear in the updated recipe list. You can locate it either by searching for ‘Gumbo’ or sorting by active quests.
Below, you’ll find the components required for making Gumbo, along with their possible sourcing options. If you prefer a faster process, consider purchasing your vegetables from Goofy’s market.
To make Gumbo, gather these ingredients and find them either by growing them yourself or buying them at Goofy’s stall. For quicker results, choose the latter option for your vegetables.
- 1 Chili Pepper – Buy from Goofy’s stall in the Sunlit Plateau
- 1 Okra – Buy from Goofy’s stall in the Glade of Trust
- 1 Onion – Buy from Goofy’s stall in the Forest of Valor
- 1 Tomato – Buy from Goofy’s stall in Dazzle Beach
- 1 Shrimp – Fish from blue ripples on Dazzle Beach
To finish Tiana’s quest, you need to prepare three sets of Gumbo ingredients. You can prepare these in your slow cooker using one piece of Charcoal for each batch. Once you have gathered your Gumbo ingredients, head over to the slow cooker and add three servings at once. This will cost a total of 75 Dreamlight. As each serving cooks independently, there will be a wait before all three are ready. Deliver these cooked servings to Tiana when they’re done, completing the Slow and Steady quest.
