How to get Wizard of Oz tickets as Aston Merrygold stars in West End show

As a devoted theatre lover who grew up watching The Wizard of Oz countless times, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming limited four-week run of this classic production at London’s West End! The memories of Dorothy’s journey to Oz and her encounters with the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and the Wicked Witch have stayed with me throughout my life.

We’re Off To See The Wizard, this time at a limited four-week run this August.

After a hugely successful run at the London Palladium and a tour that broke records in the United Kingdom and Ireland, The Wizard of Oz will be back in London’s West End in a few short weeks.

Without a need for an introduction, this timeless story makes its mark. Originating from L. Frank Baum’s beloved book series, MGM’s 1939 production is now a cinematic classic and one of the most viewed films in history. It also left a lasting impression on critics, earning three prestigious Academy Awards.

I’m thrilled to share that some familiar faces from the UK will grace the stage in this upcoming production. As a devoted fan of Drag Race, I can hardly contain my excitement to witness The Vivienne, the triumphant Season One winner, breathe new life into her portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West. Additionally, Aston Merrygold, a former JLS member, will return as the Tin Man, promising an unforgettable performance.

Audience members will be delighted to discover that the musical numbers from the classic MGM film are all featured in this production. Among these are “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Follow the Yellow Brick Road.” As an added bonus, attendees can look forward to new songs written by Andrew Lloyd-Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice – a delightful surprise!
