In Monster Hunter Worlds, your Palico offers substantial aid during hunts, yet its incessant chatter might become bothersome.

It’s not surprising that people aren’t fond of the speech features for Palico, given that they received negative feedback during the game’s testing phase. Luckily, the developers took note of the criticism and offered several options for players to mute their Palico’s dialogue.

Instead of adjusting the voice type in the Audio settings, you can effectively silence your Palico by navigating to the Options menu (Esc on PC), and then choosing Felyne Language instead. This change will transform all of your Palico’s dialogues into cat-like words such as “meow rwah nyah.

If you find that your Palico communicates frequently with you, you won’t be disturbed by its cat-like sounds as you can understand what it says through subtitles. By default, the voice lines for your Palico are already activated in the language you selected for the game. However, if you wish to mute these voice lines and only hear Felyne Language instead, you have the option to do so during character creation or when customizing your Palico’s appearance in your tent by toggling off the human voice line.

Can you complete your quests without your Palico?

If you’d like to separate from your companion for good, you could enter your tent and adjust the Palico Deployment Status to “Standby” rather than “Deploy”.
