In “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2,” Hans Capon, who’s shared many experiences with you, is a character you can pursue a romantic relationship with. Although his character has undergone significant changes since the initial game, Hans has always been a loyal friend to Henry. If you find yourself drawn to him, you have the option to deepen that friendship into something more meaningful.
To sum it up, romancing Hans Capon isn’t a simple task. Instead, you should progress almost to the end of the game and consistently keep him fond of you along the way. There are specific moments where you can significantly improve his affections towards you. Here, we will walk you through how to win Hans Capon’s heart.
This guide contains spoilers, so if you are still in the early game, proceed with caution.
How To Romance Hans

As a dedicated admirer of Hans, one crucial step in winning his heart is to carefully pick the heart icon choices that emerge during specific main quests. Regrettably, if you fail to select these options, it’s sadly impossible to pursue a romantic relationship with him.
Once you finish the Laboratoes mission, expect a heated confrontation with Hans. It’s unlikely that he’ll side with you after this event, so venting your frustration is understandable. However, this will significantly damage your standing with him, but the impact on his opinion won’t be significant in the grand scheme of things.
You might also overlook this chance if you don’t act upon it. Your first opportunity to flirt with him is during the “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” a mission that starts early in the game. To significantly improve your standing with Hans, you must save him before the twelfth bell tolls.
Although it might be challenging, it could enhance your standing with him significantly, making it worth the effort. Following your conversation with Otto von Bergow, consider engaging in some friendly banter with him. Prior to reaching Nebakov Fortress, you’ll find the option “I care about you.” accompanied by a heart symbol.
Keep in mind that von Bergow has assigned you the role of questioning a captive; this task will be carried out alongside Hans Capon. It’s important to note that if you resort to torture, it could significantly damage your standing with Hans, but it appears that such an action may not greatly affect your relationship with him overall.
Flirting With Hans

The next chance I’ll have to interact flirtatiously with Hans is during the “Taking French Leave” quest. My mission will be to rescue him. However, once rescued, he won’t cooperate and refuses to traverse the underground tunnel with me. At this point, a heart-emblazoned option, labeled “‘We’ll figure it out together.’” will become available for me to choose.
In most cases where you can flirt with Hans, it happens during the latter stages of the game. Therefore, there’s no need to hurry your progression; feel free to continue playing at your regular pace.
If you fail to choose this option, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to court Hans, as the heart-shaped dialogue choices carry great importance when trying to win the affection of a specific character.
In the upcoming instance, you’ll have an opportunity to flirt with him while engaged in “The Italian Job.” This mission appears quite late in the game and marks a significant turning point, often referred to as the “second irrevocable moment.
In The Italian Job, interacting romantically with Hans is easily overlooked since the game provides no hints about it and it doesn’t occur during primary dialogues. Similarly, you can also try to flirt with Katherine, who stands guard at the infirmary gate, though she is only present when ordered by Zizka.
If you feel like your standing with Hans isn’t strong enough, doing the “Like Old Times” task could potentially improve things. But remember, this opportunity might slip by since it can only be initiated prior to embarking on the “Into the Underworld” main mission.
To engage flirtatiously with Hans during The Italian Job mission, you could say something like this:
1. “Let’s spend a bit more time together.”
2. “Would you join us in the underground?”
3. “I’m especially interested in your well-being.”
At the end of the last choice, you’ll see a heart symbol. Later on, you’ll have another chance to flirt with him inside the tunnels. Keep in mind that this encounter might be missed, but it will happen when the quest concludes. Just before ascending the ladder, don’t forget to search for Hans; he’s hidden within the smaller crypts.
Choose the following dialogue options:
- You overcame your fear.”
- “So you’re alright?” / “The important thing is that you are alright.”
- “I care about you.”
Romancing Hans

From now on, there’s no more flirting with Hans. Later on, you’ll encounter a quest titled “Hunger and Despair,” where you can pursue a romantic relationship with him. Before receiving the reinforcements, feel free to chat with either him or Katherine.
In the game, if you pursue a romantic relationship with Katherine, you’ll find yourself unable to romance Hans as well. You can only pick one love interest during your game session. But don’t worry! If you want to explore both stories without starting a new game, make sure to save your progress beforehand. This way, you can return to the point where you made the choice and experience the other scenario.
Navigate to the spots on your map indicated by the markings and engage in a conversation with Hans. As the dialogue unfolds, he’ll begin to share a captivating tale. If a kissing option appears during the conversation, it means you’ve built up enough rapport or made the right choices in earlier conversations. However, if the option doesn’t appear, it might be because the heart options weren’t chosen beforehand, or your reputation with Hans isn’t high enough yet.
