In the immersive world of Avowed, as I traverse through each captivating region, I stumble upon various spots perfect for establishing my party’s temporary base. These strategic locations often revolve around something the game calls Adra Waystones – massive green rocks exuding a violet aura (apologies to Jimi Hendrix).

After engaging with these characters, you can establish a campsite, which will remain visible on the map as small tent symbols for easy navigation. Rest assured, this area is completely safe, ensuring no hostile forces can encroach upon you. Furthermore, should you choose to take a break, you’ll fully recuperate your health when you decide to rest.

Apart from serving as a resting spot, these locations also function as quick transportation hubs, allowing you to traverse the area significantly faster. Upon completing your activities at the camp, you have the option to either return to your previous location after fast traveling, or depart the camp altogether.

Here’s what you can do at a camp:

  • Rest: this is an obvious one, just choose to rest and you will spend the night at the camp and wake up with your health fully restored.
  • Speak with your companions: you can walk around and check if your companions have a bubble above their heads. You can also check out the notification in the lower left of your screen. When that happens, you can interact with them and initiate or progress a little romance subplot with them. At some point in your relationship with them, you will be also offered training so you can level up some of your stat points.
  • Enchant your items: by using specific resources and elements, you can enchant some specific items or, also, upgrade the magic properties of some unique ones.
  • Upgrade your equipment: as above, by using the workbench, along with some specific resources, you can improve your armor and weapons.
  • Store items: by using the party stash, you can put away items that you do not plan to use at the moment. This helps to avoid becoming encumbered during the game, and you can send items to the party stash at any time during the game.
  • Change outfits: by using the main tent at the camp, you can change the outfits for your main characters, so they can look their best.
  • Using the Totem shrine: you can access and change Totems and fragments that give your party powerful effects, though only one can be active at a time.

Once you’re prepared to resume your adventures, just opt for a rest and you’ll depart from the campsite.
