How to join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion

As a seasoned gamer in the realm of Oblivion, I can’t stress enough the allure of the Thieves Guild’s missions. These quests are so enticing that they ought to be at the top of every player’s wishlist. However, joining this secretive guild isn’t as simple as filling out a form for a college club. It requires a bit of sneaking, scheming, and perhaps a touch of subterfuge.
There are a number of ways to go about joining up, and below we’ll go over each.
Get caught stealing
It means that when someone gets caught red-handed for theft or pickpocketing, instead of resisting arrest or paying a fine, they choose to serve the prison sentence.
Later on, a Dark Elf named Myvryna Arano will come up to you in the Imperial City and hand you a Puzzling Message, serving as an invite to become part of the Thieves’ Guild.
Butter up a beggar
As a gamer, I’d suggest steering clear of the slammer and a potential hit to my gaming prowess: Instead, take a look at those wanted posters scattered about the Imperial City, then track down a beggar for some helpful intel.
Increase your rapport with them by boosting your standing, and subsequently inquire about the Gray Fox. Afterward, they’ll extend an invitation to join their group and guide you towards the Garden of Dareloth.
Attending the secret meeting
You have two options for starting the Thieves Guild Quest, and in either case, you should make your way to the Garden of Dareloth at 11PM sharp to participate in the initiation ceremony. The Garden of Dareloth is situated behind an abandoned shack, which lies to the south of the pirate ship in the Imperial Waterfront District.
Without following any instructions, you might stumble upon the enchanting Garden of Dareloth at midnight by sheer chance. This unexpected discovery, reminiscent of a walkthrough skipped, would undoubtedly leave the Thieves Guild in awe, passing your initial trial effortlessly.
How to complete May the Best Thief Win in Oblivion

At the designated location, you’ll encounter Armand Christophe, the Guild Doyen, accompanied by two potential thieves. Armand proposes a challenge: to pilfer Amantius Allectus’s Diary. However, it’s crucial that no lives are lost during this endeavor, even those of the other participants, Methrdhel and Amusei.
In the race with others, every second counts, so it’s crucial that you locate Amantius’s residence swiftly.
Armand hints that the beggars may be able to assist you, but they’ll require some compensation first. Keep an eye out for a beggar situated near the entrance of Harden of Dareloth during the competition.
Mention Amantius Allectus by name and reward them with 5 Gold coins. In return, they will provide you with the information that Amantius Allectus’s residence is located within the Temple District. Now, the precise location should be marked on your map for easier navigation.

As a gamer, I can choose to dash straight to Amantius’s residence, following Methrdhel. However, before making a move, I must swiftly crack open the front door lock – it’s not overly challenging but requires a quick hand. The goal is to get in there before she lays her hands on that precious diary, as time is of the essence!
Using this information, simply head to the Temple District from the Waterfront, then turn right and walk along the wall until you reach its endpoint. Turn again in the same direction, and on your left side, you’ll spot the entrance to Amantius Allectus’s residence.

In the house, there’s a desk located on the right-side of the room, and the diary can be found within it.
Should you be caught red-handed stealing the diary, don’t worry too much, simply head straight to Armand Christophe. Once admitted into his Guild, you can compensate him for taking care of erasing your criminal record.
