If you’re curious about where the blacksmith is located in ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’, your question is valid. Initially, they can’t be found, but there are many items that hint at their presence. Fortunately, it’s not overly difficult to access the blacksmith, considering the game’s difficulty level.
When do you unlock the blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan?
In The First Berserker: Khazan, I was eager to get my hands on the blacksmith as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it turned out that I didn’t encounter this NPC until the fifth main story mission, titled Strange Stench at Skoffa Cave. During this mission, I found myself rescuing him from a colossal demon spider.
As a gamer, I had to vanquish the wicked spider demon first, then chat up Qazumaka in the depths of the Crevice basement. However, he informed me that his hammer had gone missing! It turns out I have to tackle another task with its own boss battle before I can. Only after that, I can revisit the Crevice and begin my crafting endeavors again.
How long does it typically take to gain access to the blacksmith in your gameplay? In my experience, I encountered a roadblock with the Embars Ruins boss for approximately two hours, while the boss preceding Skoffa Cave took about an hour. Considering my comprehensive exploration of each level and other battles against bosses, I had already invested around eight to nine hours into the game before acquiring the blacksmith as an ally. The amount of time spent will vary based on how much grinding you do and how long you might get stuck on any particular boss.
As a last point, remember that the blacksmith Qazumaka can be found exclusively within the Human Realm variant of the Crevice. If you desire to alternate between mission zones and crafting, you’ll have to move back and forth between this realm and the Netherworld.
How to complete the Blacksmith’s Heirloom mission in The First Berserker: Khazan
To acquire Qazumaka’s hammer and gain access to crafting within the Crevice, you must accomplish the task known as “Blacksmith’s Heirloom.” This mission is a concise undertaking located in a distinct area called Spider’s Tomb, which is an instance of Skoffa Cave. This tomb can be found on the Charnak Mountain Range travel map.
As I embark on this mission, I find myself delving into the desolate mine known as Dead Spider’s Lair, a Blade Nexus that echoes with the past. A group of Grantie Jockos, resembling gorillas, and their monkey-like counterparts are roaming near the Nexus. It’s time for me to clear them out before moving forward through the doorway at the chamber’s far end.
additional monkeys will scramble up from the central chasm in the room, and you’ll spot a formidable vampire bat suspended from the ceiling on the opposite side of the abyss. Take out the bat with a Javelin before it stirs to make it fall to the ground and momentarily stun it.
Follow the path to your right, then veer left past more monkeys and a rocky area inhabited by a gorilla. Retrieve the treasure chest located inside the gorilla’s cave, and exit via the passage that leads out of the cave and crosses the room above it.
At Jocko Hill Blade Nexus, you’ll find some red objects scattered around. It’s best to avoid these, because they’re designed to lure Crypt Devourer worms to attempt eating you as part of their strategy.
Head to your right from the Blade Nexus, clearing the Jocko enemies from the room as you go.

How to beat Bearius and unlock the blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan
In simpler terms, you’ve probably encountered many boss-like bear adversaries similar to Bearius in your journey so far. Unlike common bears, Bearius is larger and tougher, dealing more damage. Despite being several levels higher than suggested and wearing armor with good stats, Bearius could still effortlessly take me out with two powerful swipes.
Here, we’re going to examine every attack that Bearius has, and if you’ve battled the smaller bears during your gameplay earlier on, these moves will likely look quite recognizable to you.
- Side swipe into uppercut. The right paw swipes horizontally, and the uppercut claws through the ground, sending you flying if it hits.
- Bear hug double slash. Bearius stands up on its hind legs and spreads its arms, slashing at you for big damage when it comes down. Counts as a Burst Attack.
- Belly flop. Looks like the bear hug grab startup, but Bearius stands a bit shorter and hunched over, slamming its bulk down for a large chunk of damage if it connects.
- Mouth grab. This grab has Bearius extend its neck and try to grab you in its fangs. It slams the ground with its left claw after throwing you away.
- Shoulder check. Bearius can rock back and try to knock you with its shoulder.
- Three hit combo. Bearius slashes once with its left claws, then uses the momentum to try and hit backhand, before raising up and slamming with the left claws for the third strike.
As a non-regenerating stamina beast foe, Bearius boasts considerable endurance; you’ll likely exhaust its energy levels just two or three times before it falls. Following the bear’s defeat, locate Hengie near the back-left of the arena and have your conversation with him. Afterward, retrace your steps to the Crevice.
What remains now is a trip to Qazumaka, a place where he will express gratitude for returning his hammer and offer his assistance in return.
