How To Update Monster Hunter Wilds to DLSS 4

Monster Hunter Wilds poses significant challenges for both PC and modern gaming consoles. High-performance computers often encounter performance and stability problems with this game. Players can enhance their experience by utilizing technologies like DLSS, FSR, and frame generation.

In contrast, Monster Hunter Wilds initially offers an older Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) version that is not as advanced as the current DLSS 4. Enthusiasts playing on PC have the option to upgrade their game to the latest DLSS version in Monster Hunter Wilds. This update can enhance visual sharpness, and they can opt for a higher-quality preset when using DLSS, although it may not necessarily yield superior results.

Monster Hunter Wilds DLSS Comaprison

In the game Monster Hunter Wilds, you can observe how the visuals change with DLSS 3.7 and DLSS 4.0 when playing at the Quality preset in 1080p. The enhanced detail on creatures like Seikret and Palico is noticeably more refined in DLSS 4.0, even though it runs at a lower internal resolution. Everything appears sharper and cleaner as a result.

I have uploaded the same comparison with higher resolution images at imgsli as well.

Update Monster Hunter Wilds to DLSS 4

Users of PCs have several methods to upgrade the DLSS version in Monster Hunter Wilds. They can opt for a manual method by replacing the DLSS dll file, or they could employ DLSS Swapper, an automated tool that streamlines the process. I personally find DLSS Swapper more convenient as it not only simplifies the update but also allows you to adjust the FSR version simultaneously.

Use DLSS Swapper

Here is how you can easily use DLSS Swapper, to update the DLSS version for Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Download the latest version from GitHub and install it.
  • Launch DLSS Swapper and it will automatically scan through your library and show all the games currently using some form of DLSS, including Monster Hunter Wilds.
  • You can set the filter at the top right to “Hide games with no swappable items”. This will only show games that have some DLSS or FSR implementation.
  • Now, click on Monster Hunter Wilds to open a window.
  • Select the value under DLSS, which is 3.7.10 by default.
  • Now, choose the latest DLSS version, which is v310.2.1 (This is the latest DLSS 4 version currently available)
  • You’ll have to click the download button on the right first, and then select Swap

After pressing the swap button, the DLSS version gets upgraded to the most current one. You’ll notice this update in both the DLSS Swapper application and its in-game overlay. This upgrade will significantly enhance the image quality, particularly if you’re playing at 1440p or even a lower resolution like 1080p.

For an enhanced visual gaming experience in Monster Hunter Wilds, we strongly advise you to upgrade your DLSS version. Additionally, consider downloading the high-resolution texture pack if your graphics card is capable of handling it.
