In Path of Exile 2, the updating process is pleasantly straightforward, but much like other aspects of the game, it heavily relies on discovering specific, randomly generated items!

How to Upgrade Skill Gems | Path of Exile 2
You can upgrade your Skill Gems in Path of Exile 2 by using Uncut Skill Gems, not to be confused with Uncut Support Gems. You can find these Uncut Skill Gems as a random drop from pretty much any enemy. Bosses and Elites have higher chances of dropping them, compared to common enemies.
The Raw Talent Gems you find can vary in difficulty levels as well. Tougher adversaries tend to drop the more advanced versions, and they also have a greater probability of dropping these advanced gems altogether.
Also note that they do not stack in your Inventory. Each Uncut Skill Gem will take 1 slot of Inventory space, so it’s a good idea to use or store them as soon as possible.
After acquiring some Uncut Skill Gems, you can utilize them directly from your inventory. A window will pop up displaying all the possible Skill Gems you can enhance or even create, as long as you have enough empty spaces in your Skill Gem Slots.
As a passionate player, all I need to do here is choose any eligible Skill Gem I fancy and click on the “Upgrade” button. This action will elevate the chosen gem to match the level of my Uncut Skill Gem, but remember that in this process, the uncut gem gets consumed. It’s important to note that the Uncut Skill Gem should always be a higher level than the one I wish to enhance!
Nonetheless, that’s all you need to know to be able to upgrade your Skill Gems whenever you want in Path of Exile 2. If you plan to farm enemies for Uncut Skill Gems, it’s a good idea to learn how to reset instances to respawn enemies.
