How to Use Weapon Set Skill Points
Currently, you’ll see a section labeled as the “passive skill tree” where you might observe several “weapon set” alternatives situated in the upper right corner of the screen. To utilize these sets, simply click on the arrow next to each one and then assign skill points to your passive tree just like you would normally.
Essentially, this feature allows you to establish distinct “additional” skill progression paths for each type of weapon, not by providing extra skill points. To clarify, consider it as having specialized skills for every weapon set instead.
In the provided example, it’s clear that every weapon set comes with two allocatable points, yet you have additional skill points available as well. If you glance at the right corner, you will notice a number enclosed in parentheses. This figure indicates the total number of points you can allocate overall.
If you distribute points conventionally, they’ll affect both weapon configurations. But if you click on the arrow for either weapon setup and begin allocating points separately, your skill points will decrease as usual. However, the passive abilities you select will only be applicable to the particular set you’re customizing at that moment.
As you distribute your skill points to one weapon setup, you’ll observe that those for the alternative set remain unaffected. By clicking the arrow associated with that set, you can then apply it to various nodes, effectively building a unique and distinct branch solely dedicated to that specific weapon.
In the skill tree, when you’ve invested points into a specific weapon, its corresponding branch will be illuminated or lit up , whereas branches for other weapons not yet allocated points will appear dimmed. For instance, the lines representing weapon set 1 will be marked with a red line, and those for weapon set 2 will show up as green.
Remark: If you assign points onto any of the branches, those points will automatically get added to your main progression. Later, you have the flexibility to redistribute those particular weapon set’s points to other areas.
This mechanism might seem complex, but it’s not essential for most players. You can typically assign things as usual without having to worry about this aspect unless you’re specifically planning some unique or specialized builds. For the average gamer, this detail may not come into play until much further along, if at all.
