As a devoted cinephile, I’ve come across few television series that have captivated me quite like The Walking Dead. Its unprecedented longevity and the multitude of spin-offs it spawned are not without merit; this show simply stands unrivaled in its genre.
To begin with, Andrew Lincoln portrayed Rick Grimes, which helped the show gain global fame for its gruesome walker portrayals and intricate characters. One swiftly beloved character was Norman Reedus’s Daryl Dixon, who later starred in a standalone series in 2023.
The Walking Dead became AMC’s flagship show and ran for 12 years, finally ending in 2022.
As someone who has been a long-time fan of Disney content, I can’t wait to watch the upcoming series on Disney Plus! With its affordable monthly and yearly subscription options, it’s a great way to access all my favorite Disney shows and movies at a reasonable price. Plus, the convenience of streaming from home is unmatched. However, for those who prefer traditional television, the series will also be available on Sky and NOW starting May 19th, 2024. Whether you’re a die-hard Disney fan like me or just looking for some quality entertainment, this series is not to be missed!
Fear the Walking Dead (eight seasons – 2015 to 2023)
Initially, Fear the Walking Dead served as the initial spin-off series, and its first three seasons functioned as a prelude to The Walking Dead.
Starting from that point, the new series shares the same timeline as the initial program. Lennie James’s character, Morgan Jones, transitions from the parent series into the spin-off, taking charge of the show from season 4 and beyond.
Fear the Walking Dead became a hit in its own right, and ended after eight seasons in 2023.

In simpler terms, the fourth TV show derived from The Walking Dead, titled “Tales of the Walking Dead,” explores various stories that take place within the same universe as the original series.
Actors such as Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Jessie T Usher, and Daniella Pineda are some of the prominent figures in this production. However, we’re still waiting to hear when more tales from The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU) will be released.
Where to watch: Tales of the Walking Dead is not currently available to watch in the UK.
The Walking Dead: Dead City (one season – 2023)
In this fresh wave of The Walking Dead spin-offs, we’ll delve into the lives of characters from the primary series. Specifically, we find ourselves in a decayed urban environment, where Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are the main figures.
The series follows the pair as they search for Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel.
In 2023, Dead City was renewed for a second season, although we don’t have a release date just yet.
In the United Kingdom, the series “Dead City” hasn’t been released for viewing yet, however, it is expected to premiere on Sky and NOW towards the end of this year.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (one season – 2023)
Finally, it was time for Daryl Dixon to have his own show!
In the wake of the original series, Daryl Dixon encounters a beloved character, having ended up in France. His goal is to find a route back home, but the relationships he builds along the way add layers of complexity to his scheme.
The program was given another season even before its premiere, and it’s officially titled “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Carol Chronicles,” with Melissa McBride returning to her original character role as a main cast member in this new installment.
In the United Kingdom, you won’t be able to watch Daryl Dixon just yet, but it’s scheduled to appear on both Sky and NOW towards the end of this year.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (one season – 2024)
“The Living” marks the newest addition to the Walking Dead universe, bringing us back to the storyline post-original series events, following Rick Grimes and Michonne, portrayed by Danai Gurira.
The final episode of The Walking Dead paved the way for a comeback from Lincoln and Gurira in the subsequent series.
In the United Kingdom, the series “The Ones Who Live” has not been released for viewing as of now, but it’s set to debut on Sky and NOW starting from 31st May 2024.
