Hugh Jackman’s Ex-Wife Takes Legal Action: The Shocking Divorce You Didn’t See Coming!

Hugh Jackman‘s estranged wife is starting the legal process of making him her X-man. 

Deborra-Lee Furness, who parted ways with her husband, the Wolverine actor, in 2023 after 27 years of marriage, has formally submitted divorce papers, as reported by documents acquired by TMZ.

In the document submitted in New York on May 23rd, Furness, who has children Oscar (age 24) and Ava (age 19) with Jackman, declared that the conditions of their divorce have previously been determined, as reported by the media source.

Furthermore, the actress known for her role in ‘Jindabyne’, represented by lawyer Elena Karabatos, submitted paperwork to extend her healthcare coverage and seek a medical child support order, as reported by Daily Mail. Additionally, she completed forms such as the New York state child support registry form, a proposed judgment of divorce, and the official certificate of dissolution.

TopMob News reached out to reps for Jackman and Furness for comment but has not heard back. 

In September 2023, Jackman (age 56) and Furness (age 69) announced their separation. They shared a statement via People, expressing that their path has changed and they have chosen to part ways in order to focus on personal development separately.

Approximately a year and a half ago, Jackman announced his romantic involvement with Sutton Foster, his Broadway co-star whom he had been friends with for nearly ten years before their public appearance as a couple. (Foster’s marriage to Ted Griffin had concluded in October 2024.)

Although Furness hasn’t openly dated anyone following her breakup with the actor from “The Greatest Showman”, she has shared glimpses of how she’s moved forward in different aspects of her life during the last two years.

She shared with People magazine on May 9, during a screening of Force of Nature: The Dry 2 in New York, that she discovered her strength and resilience. Furthermore, she emphasized that we are all undergoing continuous evolution.
