Hunter x Hunter creator Surprises Worried Fans With Storyboard Update

As a dedicated fan of the phenomenal Shonen series, Hunter x Hunter, I find myself in a peculiar mix of anticipation and concern for the creator, Yoshihiro Togashi. His unwavering dedication to his craft, despite facing numerous health challenges, is nothing short of inspiring. It’s like Gon himself, always pushing through adversity with an indomitable spirit.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting new chapters of “Hunter x Hunter” this year. However, creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been grappling with health concerns, leading to another pause in the series. The manga took a break during the Succession Contest Arc back in 2022 and we’ve all been keeping our eyes peeled for any updates on his social media channels. It’s a Shonen classic that keeps us hooked!

In his latest update, Togashi mentioned some health issues that left him bedbound for several days. Although he’s still a bit wobbly, he has regained enough strength to move around the house and even managed to retrieve his work phone on his own. Togashi added that he tends to be independent and not very comfortable asking others for help.

In the same message, he also disclosed that an extra storyboard has been finished. Despite his health challenges, Togashi prefers to soldier on without seeking assistance and continues to create. He confides in his followers about his difficulties moving around at home. After his latest post, fans expressed their affection and encouragement. The manga launched ten episodes this year before taking another open-ended break. With 410 chapters under its belt, there’s no announced release date for Chapter 411. However, Togashi’s recent update hints that the series will resume soon.

Hunter x Hunter Went on an Indefinite Hiatus Following Togashi’s Recent Surgery

The writer had surgery in November, during the regular release of his manga. This operation was performed using local anesthesia. Although specifics aren’t disclosed to fans, the author frequently discusses his health issues, particularly his back pain. In August 2024, he revealed that his back had been troubling him for several days. Over time, the writer has taken numerous extended breaks from publishing Hunter X Hunter, primarily due to illness and lower back pain, since 2006.

Shueisha is planning to release One Punch Man chapters in a different format than their usual weekly installments. Creator Yoshihiro Togashi has hinted that he might wrap up the series by 2023, as he’s uncertain about completing the manga. In the meantime, he will pen several potential endings for the story. The narrative continues in the Succession Contest Arc, with the latest chapter leaving readers on a thrilling edge of their seats.
