HYBE IM to publish Bonfire Studios’ Project Torch in Japan, Korea

Hybe Interactive (IM) has struck a deal with Bonfire Studios, a game studio established by ex-Blizzard Entertainment developers based in Irvine, to distribute their upcoming team-based multiplayer game, tentatively called Project Torch, on PC in Japan and South Korea. The company made this announcement. Interestingly, Bonfire Studios will handle the game’s western release independently.

In 2016, Bonfire Studios was established by Rob Pardo, who previously served as the chief creative officer and lead designer of World of Warcraft at Blizzard Entertainment, along with Nick Carpenter, a former executive art director at Blizzard, and Min Kim, a former CEO of Nexon America. This team, among others, founded Bonfire Studios. The company has since received around $25 million in funding from Riot Games and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

The objective of Project Flame is to blend competitive and collaborative aspects, creating a distinctive multiplayer setting that transcends mere combat, providing an engaging, interactive gaming atmosphere where strategy and teamwork play significant roles. As for more details regarding the project, they have not been disclosed at this time.
