Hyper Light Breaker Early Access Delayed to Early 2025

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that I appreciate Heart Machine’s decision to delay the release of Hyper Light Breaker. Having witnessed countless games rush through development only to disappoint, I understand the importance of taking the time to create a polished product.

Originally planned for a summer release, the early access debut of “Hyper Light Breaker” by Heart Machine has been pushed back once more. The developer has revealed their new goal is to launch the game in early 2025.

After extensive reviews and discussions with publisher Arc Games, Heart Machine decided to dedicate additional time to refining the project. They stated, “We prefer not to release a project, even if it’s in Early Access, that we aren’t content with on various aspects, particularly given the current state of the industry, we must make our best first impression possible.”

As a seasoned project manager with over two decades of experience under my belt, I strongly believe that prioritizing team well-being and delivering a quality product should go hand in hand. Over the years, I’ve learned the hard way that rushing projects to meet unrealistic deadlines can lead to burnout and decreased productivity.

It’s great news! Multiple opportunities are coming up for participants to try out demos and share their thoughts. This includes PlayNYC + AnimeNYC in New York City from August 23rd to 25th, XOXO in Oregon from August 22nd to 24th, and Media Indie Exchange (MIX) on August 30th. Further demos will be available at DreamHack in Atlanta and MAGFest in Maryland as well.

Keep an eye out for further information and changes regarding the upcoming release date within the next few months. Meanwhile, Heart Machine is also developing “Possessor(s)”, an engaging post-apocalyptic side-scrolling action game slated to debut in 2025 on both consoles and PC.
