Among numerous games showcased at Summer Game Fest 2025, one that caught my eye was LEGO Party!, an exciting multiplayer venture crafted by SMG Studio and published by Fictions.
A LEGO Party, as you might guess from its title, takes inspiration from Nintendo’s Mario Party series, but instead of taking place in a traditional gaming world, it’s set within one constructed entirely out of LEGO bricks. Four players (either human or AI-controlled) engage in various mini-games, striving to collect as many Golden Bricks as they can before the game concludes.
In simpler terms, it implies being ready for any unexpected situation. For instance, one moment you could find yourself delicately balancing bricks without them falling over. The next, you may find yourself daringly jumping on a pogo stick over unstable ice, trying to be the last to fall in and get wet.
Once you pick your character, either by selecting from a variety of pre-existing minifigures or designing your own unique one, you’ll dive into wacky mini-games similar to the ones described earlier. During transitions between these mini-games, players navigate across a game board that is set within a LEGO universe.
Choosing a swiftly advancing numerical value dictates the distance you travel, yet you retain some control since you can choose when to move precisely or gain power-ups to decide your destination more accurately.
The length of a game depends on the number of rounds you choose. The particular game I played lasted approximately 30 minutes without any minigames being repeated, and it’s said that there are more than 60 different games to participate in.
Sometimes, players are divided into two groups within LEGO Party!, and it’s here where the game truly showcases its inventive side. In these multiplayer scenarios, collaboration becomes crucial as you aim to outdo the other team. This could mean partnering up with a rival player to operate a tank, each of you controlling one set of treads.
It’s as hilarious as it sounds, and my demo group were all laughing throughout the experience.
Despite maintaining a substantial advantage throughout most of the game, things can unexpectedly take a dramatic turn, as other players managed to snatch my Golden Bricks and pull off an incredible comeback victory. This sudden turn of events left me yearning to replay immediately, which is a testament to how engaging this family-friendly party game is.

In response to my inquiry about potential DLC for LEGO Party! that might include extra game boards, they mentioned they are currently concentrating solely on the game’s launch.
It’s important to mention that the game LEGO Party! offers cross-platform compatibility, allowing friends to play together competitively online regardless of their chosen platform.
Individuals considering adding LEGO Party! to their collection for exciting family and friend gatherings need not wait long, as the release of LEGO Party! is scheduled for sometime this very year.
The LEGO Party! game is scheduled for release towards the end of 2025 on platforms including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
