As a seasoned Call of Duty player with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent change from Stakeout 24/7 to Racket 24/7 has been a breath of fresh air for me and my camo grinding endeavors.
For numerous players, including myself, battling it out in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with a goal of unveiling superior weapon finishes, we’ve found ourselves consistently relying on the Stakeout map. Despite its inability to cover up my own shortcomings, this layout proves quite effective for swiftly completing headshot and mastery camo objectives.
As a tech enthusiast, I must admit, I too felt a pang when the Stakeout 24/7 playlist was taken down. But fear not, my fellow gamers! The fresh addition to our playlist, so to speak, is none other than Racket 24/7. Let’s dive right in and see what this newcomer has to offer!
The game map named Racket was introduced during Season 1 Reloaded and can be played in both 2-player (2v2) or full-scale 6-player (6v6) modes. I’ve been repeatedly playing this map to check if it could replace Stakeout for my camouflage leveling, and indeed it can. In fact, I believe it might even be slightly superior to Stakeout for this purpose.
Racket has a better layout for mastery camo challenges
If you’re aiming for the 100 headshots required for the basic camo progression, then yes, Stakeout may still be a suitable choice. To be honest, if your camos are below Gold level, the weapon choice might not significantly impact your results.
But from Gold onwards is where I think Racket will shine over Stakeout. The Gold camo challenges are to get 10 double kills, and with the last two SMGs I needed to get to this level, it took me honestly two matches each on Racket. Then stepping up to Diamond where the challenge is to get three kills without being eliminated ten times, I’ve been able to achieve this up to four times in a single match.
I find it exceptional because it merges the compact, bustling, disorderly feel of Face Off, with a design that wouldn’t seem out of place if enlarged on a larger scale. Compared to Stakeout, it’s enjoyable, but the truth is, there isn’t much strategic depth, and the stakes are higher than they appear in Racket, making survival more challenging.
Easier to play tactically on Racket for harder camo challenges
As an analyst, I find myself drawn to Face Off maps due to their compact design, which fosters a higher frequency of encounters compared to larger maps. This condensed play area results in shorter match durations, making it ideal for efficiently leveling up my camouflage skills.
Achieving multiple kills at a time, including three-kills for the Dark Spine, usually necessitates both movement and shooting. However, obtaining the Diamond and Dark Matter camos demands securing kills while avoiding deaths yourself.
The former you can do just as well on Racket, perhaps a little better even, than Stakeout. But it’s those two that require you staying up for longer, where Racket really comes alive.
At both ends of the map, you’ll find rooms, possibly offices or restrooms, each with doors on opposite sides that offer a view over one of the three lanes. If you manage to enter and seize control of these spaces, it becomes relatively easy to accomplish your objectives without getting surprised from behind by an opponent.
From an exterior perspective, the rooms can also serve to your benefit. If the doors are wide open as shown in the picture, there’s just enough room to hide behind them and shoot directly down the corridor. It could even surprise unsuspecting individuals exiting the room.
These two areas are frequently visited, meaning they’re tough to reserve permanently. However, whenever you use the outer paths, it’s likely someone is already occupying them.
If ever you find yourself isolated in the heart of this map, there are several vantage points available where you can observe from various angles. However, it’s best to avoid lingering for extended periods in those spots!
Although Racket 24/7 is just one of our playlists, I highly recommend giving it a spin. I believe it’s more suitable for advanced camouflage challenges compared to Stakeout, so I plan to complete as many levels as possible within the next week or so.
