Equipped with a cursed blade that makes movement sluggish yet capable of blocking incoming attacks effectively (similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice), proficient players can employ this character as a tank, absorbing an enemy boss’ most potent strikes while teammates inflict numerous free hits. It’s worth mentioning that each successful parry accumulates stagger damage for frequent interruptions in the enemy’s stance, and multiple parries fill the sword with radiant energy, allowing you to launch powerful counter-attacks at will with a heavy, divine-infused slash.

This mechanic is incredibly useful and can be crucial when used correctly, yet surprisingly, the best Executor build scarcely utilizes it. Instead, it’s focused on enhancing his initial katana into a formidable weapon that annihilates bosses by rapidly triggering not one, not two, but three different status effects. Remarkably, you don’t have to depend on chance and collecting miniboss drops during your gameplay; instead, it only needs the application of two Relics.

To activate this setup, you’ll have to eliminate the two Nightlords: Gnoster, Wisdom of Night, and Caligo, Miasma of Night. The former is obtained from overcoming the Sentient Plague, while the latter comes from slaying the Misty Chasm. Keep in mind that both are vulnerable to fire, so stock up on relics with fire properties and seek out fire-based weapons during your journeys before confronting these bosses. This will give you an edge in battle.

The Night of the Wise and Night of Miasma relics enhance your initial katana with Poison and Chilling Mist Ash abilities respectively. While the former also has Bleed properties, the latter creates a frost cloud and temporarily increases the sword’s Frostbite. Both relics increase damage when their statuses are activated in battle. For the third relic slot, anything that amplifies katana damage or boosts the Arcane stat, which controls how swiftly a character can accumulate status effects, is optimal.

When you think about the fact that Bleed gradually reduces a target’s health, Frostbite does this to a smaller degree while also making enemies more vulnerable to additional harm, and Poison adds a damage-per-second effect, it becomes clear why this combination could be effective on any Nightfarer. However, it proves exceptionally deadly when paired with Executor, as he has an exceptionally high S ranking in Arcane.

Utilizing that distinctive feature, he repeatedly meets all three conditions an astonishingly high number of times during boss fights, reducing the formidable Nightlord villains to pools of bubbling status effect residue. This strategy has been my go-to in Executor for several days, and unless FromSoftware makes adjustments, I can hardly envision any reason for me to change it, except perhaps for a craving for novelty.

To truly realize this build’s full potential, you need to focus on upgrading your starting sword throughout your adventure. This task is quite straightforward as vendors offering Smithing Stones for a +1 upgrade are abundant near or within enemy strongholds and camps of interest. Moreover, purple Smithing Stones required for a +2 upgrade can be obtained from mini-bosses such as trolls, knights, and pumpkin head enemies within mineshafts. Keep an eye out for tunnel icons on your map to locate mine entrances.

You now have the completed build! If you come across another katana suitable for a Bleed effect to dual-wield with your current one, feel free to do so. Additionally, hunting for equipment enhancements or talismans that boost stamina, defense, or attack power will be beneficial, but remember, an upgraded initial weapon combined with these relics is more than enough for you.”
