Teddi Mellencamp needs hope and positivity now more than ever.
A former cast member from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” who is presently fighting brain and lung tumors, offered a poignant reaction to a fan who suggested that her stage 4 cancer prognosis was essentially a death sentence.
On April 3, Teddi reposted a message that read, ‘This is incredibly sad.’ Many people know that stage four cancer with metastasis is usually fatal, but everyone’s hoping for an exception in Teddi’s case. They’re praying she recovers and beats the odds.
And the 43-year-old was not too happy with the negative take on her chances of survival.
Teddi, who is a mom to Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (5), with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, responded on her Instagram Stories. She expressed that comments like these bring her great sadness. Although she acknowledges the likelihood of certain outcomes, she wholeheartedly believes that she will overcome this challenge and witness her children graduate in the future.
In a light-hearted manner, the co-host of the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast (who is also John Mellencamp’s daughter) playfully stated that she plans to stick around for a long time, providing opportunities to vent on the podcast and stir up some controversy, as well as bothering her siblings by constantly reminding everyone she is their favorite.
Recently, Teddi has a cause for joy – she’s finished her radiation treatment aimed at reducing the size of her tumors. (Bravo personality announces completion of radiation therapy to shrink tumors)
Teddi, who had emergency brain surgery in February, labeled an April 3 Instagram video of her ringing a bell at the hospital as marking the completion of her radiation treatment. She has 5 more sessions of immunotherapy left. Thank you for your supportive messages.
In an additional video, she stated, “I now have my graduation certificates. Also, there’s a lucky bell. If you ring it thrice properly, it symbolizes that my treatment has concluded, the journey is over, and I am moving forward.
Regarding Teddi’s future, she shared with Us Weekly during an interview in early April that she will know definitively on June 1 where things stand for her. If there are more procedures needed or if it means the end, it’s a tough reality to accept.
Nevertheless, the accountability coach continues to battle tirelessly, always envisioning the day she triumphs over cancer.
She mentioned her desire for exploring fresh experiences, embarking on more travels with her children, continuously creating and living our lives to the fullest, and enjoying ourselves in the process. In essence, her aim is to achieve these pursuits together.
