For quite some time now, fans have eagerly anticipated seeing “The Ice Cream Man,” originally penned by W. Maxwell Prince and illustrated by Martin Morazzo and Chris O’Halloran, adapt from its comic book form into a television show or film. The series initially hit the shelves in 2018 and was quickly acquired for production at Universal Content Productions. Its journey to the screen began when it was picked up as a Quibi series, but unfortunately, it didn’t make it to the screen due to Quibi shutting down its operations.

Following that, Prince shared some news about the possible television future of the show, and luckily, it was ongoing even though the network or streaming service wasn’t specified yet. “Let me clarify,” Prince added, “it most certainly isn’t happening at Quibi! I can assure you that the Ice Cream Man TV series is very much in the works. We hope to share more updates very soon.

Previously a series, the story is now set to be a full-length film – a first for this particular franchise. Most recently, Gough and Millar penned the long-anticipated sequel to Beetlejuice, named Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, under the direction of Tim Burton. With their impressive resume that includes Spider-Man 2 and Shanghai Noon, these writers know how to bring a project to life on the big screen. Here’s hoping that The Ice Cream Man series receives similar treatment, and you can read more about The Ice Cream Man Vol. 1 in the official description provided below.

What Is The Ice Cream Man?

Ice Cream Man is an extraordinary comic book series that blends various genres, offering standalone stories filled with sorrow, wonder, and redemption. Each tale introduces unique characters grappling with their personal mix of struggles. At the edges of these narratives, like a catchy tune from his vibrant truck, hovers the Ice Cream Man – a storyteller, a vendor of sweets. He could be an ally, an adversary, a deity, or a demon. With a mere snap of his fingers, he can alter your life’s trajectory forever.
