As a diehard fan, I can’t help but marvel at the series that have graced us with an array of unforgettable villains, and few can rival the legacy of Final Fantasy. Among its roster, there’s one antagonist who has stood the test of time – Sephiroth, whose style continues to captivate. In a stunning turn of events, Square Enix, the mastermind behind this iconic IP, has teamed up with none other than Pharrell Williams, a musical and fashion maestro, for a runway extravaganza. The live performance of Sephiroth’s immortal theme, One-Winged Angel, at the Louis Vuitton Men Fall-Winter 2025 Fashion Show left many onlookers stunned, and perhaps a few bewildered as well.
Eurogamer has once again supported our belief that incorporating Final Fantasy VII music can elevate any context, a notion we wholeheartedly agree with. Williams advocated for the use of this track, a decision we appreciate. Alex Moukala, both gamer and musician, notes that Pharrell’s long-term affiliation with N.E.R.D. was to be expected, given the cover of their debut album.
Instead of evaluating the clothing itself, let others do that, but it’s worth noting that Square Enix isn’t new to collaborations with high-end fashion brands. Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning was a prominent figure in a major campaign around a decade ago, when such partnerships weren’t as prevalent as they are today.
