After being unexpectedly closed down by GameStop last year, Game Informer – a well-established American gaming magazine – has made its return.
This year, one of the least anticipated events unfolded as Gunzilla Games revealed they’ve taken over the publication from its former proprietors. Remarkably, they’ve brought back the entire original editorial crew.
Today, the site is back online, and you can access it via this link. Upon your arrival, you’ll find a retrospective look at the top 10 games of the year 2024, with Astro Bot once again claiming the Game of the Year accolade from a renowned media outlet.
Although the site appears attractive, we’re also planning a comeback for our classic print magazine. The revival will feature a fresh new style, larger in scale, and superior to its previous versions.
According to Editor-in-Chief Matt Miller, our team was excited to learn that Gunzilla Games were keen on collaborating with us for the relaunch.
They, just like us, hold the conviction that the enduring impact of Game Informer merits protection. We eagerly look forward to carrying on our crusade, honoring video games and the creative minds behind them as well as their passionate players.
We’re deeply appreciative to Gunzilla Games for their faith and assurance in keeping all our team members on board, allowing us to maintain full editorial control over our content selection and creation.
Not only is there anticipation surrounding Game Informer’s upcoming developments, it’s equally crucial to note that their extensive library of past issues will be digitally archived and accessible for free reading on their website.
As a gamer, I must admit that the last 18 months have been pretty tough on our gaming community, with not many victories to cheer about in the gaming media landscape. But now, we’ve finally got a reason to pop some champagne and raise our controllers high – this is a story worthy of celebration!
Welcome back, Game Informer – it’s good to see you again!
